Is Kodi legal? An update.
Last month I published a blog on here about the danger of using Kodi to watch material that is copyrighted. I also highlighted how some of these Kodi box resellers have been charged.

Well, yesterday it was back in the news. A man has been charged £250,000. Let me just say that again.

I know this is not related to WA but I just wanted to highlight the dangers again and if you are a Kodi user, these dangers may be coming to a country near you very soon.
I'm in a bit of a quandary here because this is my niche. On the plus side, I can sell VPNs which would lift any geo-restrictions but for how long?
I'm lucky I have a few strings to my bow, with respect to my niche but I still think people will buy Kodi boxes for the foreseeable future. They must just be a bit restricted in what they can watch.

Ahh, man, just get Netflix. There's so much on there for a small monthly fee, and then you know you're legit.
Some people are difficult to please. I remember when we only had 4 channels to choose from.
Just remember though, Kodi boxes and the Kodi software itself is not illegal. The Addons that allow for pirated content ARE. You are allowed to buy a standalone box with Kodi preloaded, but not with things like SALTS, Pheonix etc.
That is my understanding anyway.
Yep, I do remember you warning about the UK ban on Kodi. And yes, that screenshot definitely brought it home Craig!!

I'll have to look at your sight in more depth Craig - we didn't have foreign telly for years and then we came across the Kodi box and bought one for watching Dutch TV in Spain. I assumed it's a normal, ok thing to do if you live abroad... :o

Hi Soraya, you will still be able to use Kodi but there will be restrictions on Sky Sports channels. Other countries are following suit already and starting to plan a crackdown.
