Hello well where to start. In the online world i have tried many different things too make money. Have i been successful, not not at all. I have made small amounts but never a return of the investment. Would i like to make money online - absolutely.
I work in a field that i am very passionate about and i believe, with help, i could take it to the online world, help many people, and produce an income for myself.
I am in recovery, and have been for 24 years. I have worked with others for over 20 years. I am an addictions counselor and a member of the Canadian Addiction Counselors Certification Federation. I sit on the advisory counsel to the Addictions Study course at Mount Royal University in Calgary. I am currently employed as counselor and case manager with the Calgary Drug Treatment Court.
I have a private practice as well and coach people in recovery. Many are not close by and the coaching is done on phone, email and text. It does work and could be expanded through this program.

I am married and have two sons and 6 grand children and i should be retired, however i love my work. A busy online program would allow me to continue to help people, make a living and semi retire. I would like that.

This is my 1st endeavor with online business venture and have been pleasantly surprised at the help/education that is available to me. A truly phenominal opportunity that I believe will honestly benefit anyone that has the desire to succeed. I look forward to your thoughts and posts in the future.

Hi Mr. P., if I might call you that-I'm Alice. You have a very full life going for you. I can see how you might want something else after all this time in your profession. I'm a newbie as I've said a few times already. I'm a mother, wife and grandmother plus I stay home and tend my chickens, ducks and two cats. My husband is away all the time because its either work or lose the farm. :) So when my young renter told me about the affiliate program I came here and am so happy I did. I can interact with people without smelling them... I am allergic to every odor you can imagine- and here at the WA community, I can interact with everyone who says hello in the community. I look forward to interacting with you as you journey toward new goals and watch as your dream of more family time and a boost to your budget becomes reality. Thank you for following along as well. That's a very Irish name you have there unlike the mustache. it looks great.I believe it's called 'the handlebar' as it resembles a set of fruity bicycle handlebars. I joined WA the same time as you and am enjoying all the activities, but as yet, have not made any money. Signed up for another year and definitely expect to monetize my website this year. I am going through all the training for a second time as my memory is not as good as it use to be.

Would like to meet in person with a group of local WA members, but have yet to fine even one here in Edmonton. Perhaps we should try and organize a yearly get togeather for Albertans. I would like to, but am pretty sure I will not qualify for the WA yearly Vegas trip for a few years to come.

I certainly appreciate the value and challenges of your work, being an individual with an addictive personality. Am presently watching "Mad Men" replays on TV and beginning to realize just how much drinking and smoking I did back in the 1960's. It was totally acceptable and I was right in there with the rest of them. Luckily I hit bottom and quite smoking and only have the odd beer now.

I look forward to meeting you some day for a coffee.

It is awesome to give back after winning your own battle with such a ferocious disease called addiction. This is a well needed area where assistance is needed for so many out there. I am a registered nurse for over 25 years and knows first hand your value. You bring to the table a wealth of knowledge, resources and a very high level of connection to one who is struggling with addiction. I have a friend who runs a small nonprofit in Utah that supports Drug Court participants and their families with their legal needs and recovery education. It's such important work! I've done some writing for him that's made me aware of the opiate epidemic in a deeper way than I was before. Addiction awareness (any addiction) is so important, and spreading recovery opportunity is a great cause. I commend you. . . . And I'm happy to be in your network, as well.

Thank you Theresa - the opiate epidemic is huge and is killing people every day - not sure how it is down there but our governments talk about it a lot but don't put a lot of money into it. We could serve a lot more people if we had more funding. As you would know its cheaper to treat addicts than it is to keep them in jail. But treating them doesn't satisfy the touch on crime folks.
Keep up your good work as well and say hi to your friends who support the drug court there - Drug Court Works without a doubt.

We could sure use your help here in KW, Ontario. I can't walk the short distance downtown without seeing at least half a dozen persons with addiction issues who need help. There are several methodone clinics which I'd never heard of where I used to live for 50+ years - a very small town so this has been a n eye opener. I don't understand the clinics enough to know if they are a help or not. I moved here because my grown children went to university in this area and then made it their home. It is a real tech town with Google and Blackberry head offices so it is quite a melting pot. To live here and not see the problem would mean you must never come out of your house. So sad.
Anyway, thank you for the follow!

Addictions are a much bigger problem than a lot of people realize. They are to epidemic proportions, and the drugs these days are killing many people. Methadone has its purpose and helps many people. The pain of withdrawal from Heroine is so bad many people will choose to stay high and not go through it. Methadone helps with that. Thanks for your comments.

Hi PSheridan,
I am very impressed with your blog, I would like your permission to be your friend in the community. This is all new to me, I am still scared of the computer, internet, but I have come to realized that things are rapidly changing and if I want to succeed I will have to take some kind of action; the small amount of things that I have learnt on the computer, were achieved on a trial and error basis, sure I can send an email, browse ect, but that does not cut it. Today, I have learnt , about copy, paste, cut etc. I have also with the help of a friend put two websites together and have even linked to Amazon. I am going through the training process. I have also come to realized that there are numerous things and tasks that I am not aware of or familiar with. One of my greatest fears is to be perceived as being dumb, but then I know I am,also I get very frustrated and really need to be hand lead at times. This program seems the best so far and I am taking my time and my
willingness ability to learn all I can. I would be most grateful if you would become some sort of a mentor for me!

Why you? Well, we have same type of mustache , your experience , possibly age, appearance. Thank you for listening

Lloyd.

Lloyd thanks for the message. First off because you aren't familiar with something doesn't make you dumb. Over coming the fear surrounding it makes you very brave. I like that. I would be honored to be a mentor to you. I have to be honest with you my knowledge on computers is limited as well. I have learned mostly by trial and error. The courses here are good - some of them i have had to repeat several time. That is likely due to age LOL. Love your mustache as well. So welcome here - happy to have met a new friend. This is a very friendly helpful community of people all around the world. WA could teach the United Nations a thing or two about peace and getting along. Look forward to visiting with you more.

Pete thanks for accepting my friend request; based on the age phenomenon, things are more difficult to learn, so I will not beat up on myself, just repeat until I get it, after all getting one point of understanding on a daily basis is better than none .

Hi Peter,

Nice to meet you. Interesting career. I used to drink, smoke, toke and had my fair share of drugs along the way. I've been sober and clean, free from everything about 2 years, around this day actually. Not sure specifically the day. Free from addiction and cravings all at once without any counseling or programs. There are so many people our there who struggle with addiction, so it is awesome to see you helping them out. The thing I never liked before I was free was how those programs would say once an alcoholic always and alcoholic basically. I would hear people say things who went for treatment like, "I'm a recovering addict/alcoholic." That sounds like you're still coping man! I'm free, not an alcoholic or addict, or recovering and I know it.

Anyway, I came here first of all because I saw you followed me and wanted to thank you. Of course, I am following you now, and wish you all the best in your online endeavors. As long as we are taking action, we will reach our goals. Plus we have this amazing community for support, so how can we fail?

I'll see you around,

Jon

Hi Jon - awesome to hear from you. Oh addiction is cunning baffling and oh so powerful. Glad to hear you are doing well. You are right - taking action is so important to our recovery. I understand where you are coming from and appreciate your point of view. For me i can never take another drink - if i ever let my mind convince me i can - I am doomed. Our disease if progressive and it is always there. There are some who over used or over drank and chose to quite - who may not have the addiction as such - that happens. I am so happy you are here and told me a bit about your and your story. Welcome and lets keep in touch.

Hello and thanks for the follow and I am following you back. Read your profile and was impressed with type of work you are doing. I
had the chance while in the U.S. Navy to serve on the Alcohol Review Board for enlisted personnel. Our mission was to find, investigate and make recommendations concerning the individual's needs for transfer to an Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
I am sure you had the same feelings that I did that by getting these individuals needed help, your actions and guidance went a long way toward SAVING THEIR LIFE! I salute you and wish you all the best in this new journey. Thanks for what you do.

Thank you so much for the like and I have liked your reply as this
subject is dear to my heart! My stepfather was an alcoholic and
when he was sober, he was my hero, but drinking, became
Mr. Hyde and displayed some of the most horrific traits and actions that I had to get away from him. God Bless you for what you do!

Thanks for following me! I hope you are having a good day :) Addictions is a favorite subject for me! I have been struggling with them and my loved ones have too, we have found Jesus and that is worth sharing so one of my niches is probably going to touch that subject, hopefully. Anyway, i am so happy to "meet" people with similar interests and different backgrounds here!

Jesus is an important part of my recovery. Faith is so important to recovery, and life itself. I believe God can move mountains - but you had better bring the shovel. The shovel in addiction is our program. Together working a program and having faith anything can happen. So good to have you here. Please keep in touch.

Hi Peter and thank you for the follow. Addiction is one of those topics a lot of people don't understand fully and I think it's great that you have made a difference in so many lives working in that field. Case managing is not easy. I hope you are able to find success in still creating an impact with your online endeavors!

Thanks so much. Success in this field is difficult to measure sometimes. But I feel I am fairly successful - but each person is different. The real issues with addiction is getting to the inner problems that fuel the addiction. Abandonment, abuse issues, low self esteem, issues, trauma etc. Once you can drill down to some of that things start to get better - but it takes a lot time.

Yes, this is true being able to tap into the deeper root of the addiction and acknowledging it is the 1st step on the road to recovery. I am sure you are changing lives if others for the best.

Hi PSheridan, it's very nice to meet you. We are practically neighbours! I moved back to Alberta last year. My sister (three years sober) is also an addictions councellor. She just completed her course and is doing her practicum right now. I wish you all the best with your on-line councelling...it is a very worthy and much needed cause.
