Life and Death
Life is a strange thing. One struggles all through their lifetime because that is our nature as human beings. There is always that little glimmer of hope that whatever struggles we might have, most of them will be solved!
But what about when cancer comes knocking at our door? Usually the outcome is out of our control. Yes, we are promised the all cure of taking radiation and the dreaded chemotherapy treatments.
I wonder how many people really survive the chemo treatments. I have no faith or reason in researching the survival rates because the numbers are most likely skewed. Is it just a way for the hospitals and doctors to do more experimentation on the patient? I wonder…
The patient is told they have a 50/50 chance of the cancer going away. Because we are human it is instilled in us all, who look again toward the glimmer of hope, that we can overcome this terrible disease with treatments so we go through all the pain and suffering hoping that the odds can be beaten.
Is it true that there really is a drug already available for a cure? That the pharmaceutical companies keep it a secret because there is more money to be made on all those never-ending patients, who are hoping until the bitter end that their situation will go away. I can only wonder…

Although I don't know who or what was the inspiration for this article;; I would venture someone close, or yourself....this type of event none of us want for anybody, whether you know them or not....the sad thing is that the word 'cancer' covers a universe of afflictions, each being different from the other and each having a different 'treatment'...Being the type of person I am....'never give in', 'never give up', 'oh no you don't!"....I do know that this type of outlook/being does much more good for your physical and emotional health than just 'giving in' to whatever and becoming like one of the herd of sheep....your body's own mechanisms work better, physical medications and treatment have a better chance for success...this is fact. I have never been one to blindly accept all that I read or hear....but don't think anything could be as simple as a 'catch-all' cure.....but then that's me...
Yes, Rosie. It was my friend of 18 years that I just lost. We talked/text almost every week & I always looked forward to hearing his opening line: "Hey, Pretty Lady! How are you today". Everytime. It will take some time to get over but I will never forget. Thank You for your comments!
When someone is taken from you (sorry, that's how it feels...at least to me...just lost my sister) that void is.....well, there are no words....I feel your loss but at least here you will see there are so many of us here helping each other through these trying times.....
I'm so sorry for your loss as well. One never knows what someone else is going through. I am truly surprised at the support from our community. I was only expressing my sadness & never expected to get so many responses. For that, i am truly grateful. Thank you to everyone!
I've seen many articles that say there is a cure. And, as a point of interest USA government owns patent to Ebola, and cancer and aids cure. Google it. These nasty chemicals (read toixc poison) can't be good for the body. I also read that most of chemo patients die of malnutrition due to their inability to keep their food down, or even eat.
Yes, I've read a few articles saying just that. That there is a cure. So sad that our government puts $$ over the lives of its citizens.
I've heard the same thing about there being a cure out there. I have my own (perhaps not so nice) theories of the pharmaceutical companies. Cancer can be devastating not only to the person with it but all those around them. Sad.
Yes, so true. It will take me some time to get over the loss but life goes on. How ironic is that?!
The Ojibwa tribe of American Indians had a tea that they used to cure cancers, It's details were covered up ( SHHH! don't tell any one). However, there was a woman (Cassie ???), who deciphered the ingredients. It's now called "Essiac" Tea (which is Cassie spelled backwards, in tribute to her), and usually can be found at health food stores. Does the medical/pharmaceutical/FDA want this to be known? Hell no.
Interesting! Oh, if I had only known. But I believe in the case of my friend, he only found out when he was in Stage 4 & lived 3 months longer. It probably would have been too late by then. Thank You!
It makes me sad that people just take the word of Drs. over all else, and lose their battles because of it. It also make me angry that Drs. don't tell their clients ALL their options. The FDA was created way back when to put a lid on the "Snake-oil salesmen" who were making money off of people with their strange concoctions, some worked, most did not, so it was a good thing ... for a while. But now the FDA ARE (IS?) the snake-oil salesmen. They use their patents to make money off of pharmaceutical companies to approve the next new "cure-all" (which, by the way just may or may not kill you, or have harmful side effects, sometimes worse than the original ailment). Not too long ago, the FDA was looking into ways of classifying WALNUTS as "medicinal" so they could regulate them, since so many people were using the nuts (successfully) to lower their cholesterol! Sorry to preach on, but it IRKS me. Lives loss due to greed and red tape.
I agree with all that you wrote. I also do not see anything changing during our lifetime either. So sad we, as the greatest country on earth, have come down to this!
But we as individuals can change our own circumstances where medicine is concerned. The last time I went to the doctor for anything was 19yrs. ago. I gave birth to my last daughter. It took about 3 hrs. and when the doctor finally showed up, my daughter had been born. Fat, dumb and healthy (my daughter, not the Dr.). He just poked his head in the room as I was resting and asked why I'd even come to the hospital. I told him "Because my oldest daughter didn't know how to cut the cord". He didn't like that answer, but then I didn't like the bill. So we're even. Anytime I have a question relating to a medical issue, I consult books. Either here at my home or the library. Not so much the internet. Too many fads out there. There are inexpensive herbal cures out there for just about everything. And only as far away as your grocery store or even your front/backyard (unless you use pesticides/fertilizers). You'd be amazed how healthy and beneficial dandelions are.
My husband died of stomach cancer a few months ago. Chemo wasn't an option (very fast and agressive type) but he said he wouldn't have taken it anyway.
My own belief is the big pharmaceuticals don't want cures, how will they make money.
Look for research on using cannabis for cancer treatment.
Funnily enough this just arrived on my wall in Facebook http://www.naturalcuresnotmedicine.com/ph-levels-in-the-blood-can-cure-cancer-or-be-the-cause-of-it/
Thought provoking post and very close to my heart, thank you. :)
Good comment. I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband. I recently lost someone to cancer (couple days ago). I felt like I had to write something about it. Guess its more for the living than the dead. So sad to lose anyone when you know there is probably really a cure out there! Yes, the post on your wall is a real kwinky-dink!
It still remains a dreadful disease. So many people get this diognose. And then? My dad had a malignant coloncancer in 1991, they told him, you have 10% chance to live through it, he went through chemo, operations and radiation, he survived and lived on for another 23 years and died on 86 years of age on the effects of Alzheimer Disease. You can never tell the outcome from the treatment

My belief is that there absolutely IS a cure for cancer--and that, as you say, there is no profit for big Pharma in the natural therapies. I read every week about new, natural treatments that are completely wiping out cancer--yet the mainstream doctors are still prescribing chemo--even though it has been shown time and again not to work--especially on advanced cancers. I lost my dad, uncle and grandfather to this insidious disease--and I am outraged by the cover up of proven and inexpensive cures. When will we stop putting profits before people? Thank you for your brave post--and my condolences on your loss. I hope that some day the alternatives will be main stream and that we can offer true hope to those who are suffering.
Yes, I agree with you. If you read Terry661 below, she has the right idea. Do research on the ailment & find a possible cure yourself. I would have in my friend's case but I was not in charge & he was getting so many uplifting promises from the doctors.
