A Time To Stay Strong!
Things have worsened here with Hurricane Irma.
It has moved west of prior projections, and is now supposed to blow right through the Florida county I live in!
This is not good news.
I spent all day yesterday clearing my property, in anticipation of tropical storm winds, to avoid potential "flying missiles."
Now it looks as though we will have Hurricane winds, Tornados, and a threatening storm surge.
Last night, a neighbor lie screaming in the middle of his driveway. It seems his way of dealing with crisis involved a bottle, and he had not been moderate in any way.
I assisted him in getting into his home and onto his couch, then returned to my own preparatory efforts.
Later, the man came knocking at my door, to let me know he was "riding out" the storm, and would be right next door, in case I needed him.
Sleep easy tonight!
Could it possibly keep moving west, out into the Gulf of Mexico?
I guess it could, but according to the talking heads, it's probably not going to.
I've been in this area of Florida many years, and we have never seen anything like Irma here.
Store shelves are empty. There is little gas, no water, no sandbags left to impede the flow of water.
I will go, probably to a shelter, but there are no guarantees.
I may come home to nothing. My house is nearly 90 years old.
It's a scary situation.
A time to stay strong!

I'm just a bit northeast of you Rick. This thing is literally the size of Texas! My thoughts are with ya, praying you and all of us stay safe!
Keeping you in my prayers, Rick. I'm in Atlanta, so we were watching it's predicted path. I'm praying for hurricane Irma to dissolve and to harm no one else.
Georgia is full of Floridians right now. Also people from the east coast of GA are under a mandatory evacuation and are coming inland toward the metro Atlanta area today. Interstate 75 heading North from FL is crowded and inching along. Hotel rooms and campgrounds are full, and more shelters are opening. Some individuals and families have been taking in evacuees as well. Lots of people willing to help others! Will continue to keep you in my prayers! May God bless you and give you His supernatural strength, peace, and wisdom.
God is faithful, Rick. See in your picture there is only one trail of footsteps. It's because God is carrying you through this disastrous situation...Stay strong and use all the wisdom you have, and I am praying for additional wisdom from above for you. And I of course pray that no human lives be lost in your beautiful sunny state.... God be with you!:)
WE are all praying and holding our thoughts that you and everyone in the path of Irma will ride this out with only physical damage not life .
May you know you are not alone,
ariel
