I've stumbled upon http://www.logicalincrements.com/ and I really, really want to make a site very similar to it, but I lack the ability to code. I've been trying to learn from
Cool site. The page itself looks like to be a massive table which uses some pretty fancy css
Then there are some pretty cool accordion menus
The rest is pretty standard.
I would go get a them that has the accordian menus built in with some of the other features you are looking for
http://theme.co/x/
Go to the 'demos' tab then when the demo opens have a look at all the short codes
I think you could achieve the same type of thing with popovers inside a table structure

It's embedded google spreadsheets, which is what make it very appealing to me. The spreadsheets would be a lot easier to manipulate than tables in Wordpress. I also really like the ability to change what you're looking at from drop down menus. I'd ideally have two different drop down menus specifying country and type (of product).
The theme you linked is very enticing as well. I wonder if I can use the embedded spreadsheets within it. I'm sure I can, I just don't know how to make the mouseovers work and how to change all of the colors and what not. The drop down menus changing what is shown is also a big feature that I'm currently unaware how to make work.
OK now you have sparked my interest I love google docs :-)
I found this thread looks like you need to do it using an iframe which is really quite simple when you get used to it
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/sites/zfgPF5l2rec
OR within the thread they mention this plugin
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/inline-google-docs/
Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the wordpress part because if you can get it to work in a static HTML page you can get it to work in wordpress
As fas as the "drop downs" you can do that quite easily with the "pop over" effects with the above theme
I would focus on imbedding the tables the rest you could do with the above theme
Need help let me know

Fantastic, you've been amazingly helpful, thank you.
I bought the theme and am going to start working with it to see everything I can do. It also looks like I'm going to have to learn a LOT about Google Sheets. I know that there are a bunch of things possible with it, but they are all a little cryptic to me. I know that Google Apps Scripts are also going to be helpful, but not entirely sure how to implement that kind of thing.
I also wonder if it's possible to get live price checks on items and have the sheet automatically place things in order depending on their current price. Would that require working with Amazon, Ebay, etc. API's?
Your very welcome :-)
Live price checks would involve developing a scraper but yes it can be done although that would be a little more complicated.
Word of advice >> set the theme up using the demo content first i.e. set up the structure first then work on imbedding send me a PM if you need assistance

I found this on WA, under "building tables"
Yeah I'm at a loss and I don't know if that one will work. There has to be a way to do this.

So I'm trying to add a user account for my buddy so he can be a contributing author on my site, and when I make the account and set the password, it says "authorization required
I had a similiar problem and it had to do with trying to create another account from the same ip address you used to log into your own WA account. In other words, if a friend creates a new account it can't be on a computer you ever used to log into your WA account.
Its a security measure to prevent people from creating multiple WA accounts and abusing the system.
Not talking about WA, talking about wordpress and my website. I need to allow someone else to have an account within my website, which is a feature of WP. It just isn't working.
