Here's a New Way to Find Things to Write About
I noticed earlier today that someone searched for something on my site that I never came across before.
And after doing some research, it's the perfect product to review!
But then I forgot which product it was.
So I went back into my Google Analytics to look for it.
And that's when I saw all kinds of searches!
People are looking for things on my site (and maybe yours too), and I'm not delivering the goods. (Because i didn't realize until now.)
You may have some good opportunities waiting for you in Google Analytics.
Here's just a few of about 17 in my analytics:
Looks like I'll be busy for a whiile!
Now, head into your own analytics and tell me if you find anything good in there. Leave a comment below and let us know what you found!

Yes, sometimes it is better to know what people are looking for rather than trying to find keywords that they are putting into the search bar because sometimes people don't know what they're looking for...yet.
This is why we should be reading at least 10 blogs per week and commenting on them and responding to other's comments as well. Find questions to answer. (if you know the answer to them)
Doing this will give us an idea what to post about.
Yes, that's a great strategy too. It does give me ideas when I comment on other's posts.

This is a great technique Christina.
/?s= means that they used the search form on your website so for anyone looking to use this, make sure that you have a search form on your website or you won't find these types of searches in your analytics.
I think you also have to let analytics know that you want to track searches on your site's search form. It may be set up that way by default but if I remember correctly there's the option to enable/disable this.
I just saw this, thanks for the idea. I'll have to check it out.
Even though Google as a whole isn't being very friendly to me right now...lol.

Yeah, you're on the money with that one...I tried and it didn't give me responses like the one you had in your post...oh well...I'll try again later.
I'm not sure what your traffic situation is, but if you don't have enough traffic yet, then you may not have people searching yet.
Or Google's just being Google. :)

Ok, I'm not very advanced with analytics but this intrigues me. Could you explain in a bit more detail how you found this info please or perhaps point me at some training? Thanks for the post :)
I don't think there's training on it, but it's really easy to get to if you have Google Analytics set up. (If you don't, then there is training on that.)
I just go to my Google Analytics "home" page, then I scroll down to the bottom where it says "What pages do your users visit?"
That gives you the top 10 pages for a period of time, usually the last 7 days.
There's a link called "Pages Report". You click on that next and that gives you a list of all the pages that users have visited.
I scrolled through this list and found the searches.
I hope that makes sense? It's easy once you see it.

Thank you Christina
I need to take more action to create traffic

It's really just creating content. So keep writing! (Or making YouTube videos if that's your thing.)
