Hi there, and apologies in advance if what I'm asking has an obvious answer, but I'm struggling to understand how to get the actual name of my blog to rank. Ive watched several
Clare, by some strange accident I have two names for my site. The first one I put in when I got my domain and worked on it in the 'free' getting started training. The other was when I got into SEO stuff. At that point I checked out the various servers and didn't get the first name ranking at all. I decided to try another name in All In One SEO. That name started ranking on Chrome page 2 right away. Now I forgot to change the first one at that time. I frequently check various servers and now find both names ranking on either page 1 or page 2. Some on one server and some on the other server/s. So you can rank your website with the site name. Now DON'T change your URL. But you can go and change your site name. For SEO go to All in One SEO, General, Home Title and try a new name there *include the keywords you already have, just expand on them). The go to Settings, General, Site Title and put a second name (ditto the keywords) there. Then you can check both names for ranking. And try again if you have to.
Hello Clare! One thing you can do is to cut and paste your domain into the search bar to see what comes up. When you type in girl blog....Google is pulling up every single site that has those combinations of keywords in the search results.
So in essence, you are competing with many websites that have these combinations of keywords in there...which doesn't really mean you won't be able to rank on other keywords as you create new posts on your blog, but the title of your blog is a little too general and generic for Google to distinguish.
There are a lot of girls online who are using the same exact title if not variations of the title so keep this in mind....good luck!
Ranking is always the matter of individual pages and posts. So there is no point thinking about site. If your texts are highly ranked than your site will become an authority site and as such will be remembered by people. There are methods of branding site name, Jay was talking about it in some tutorial.
Thanks a lot for your reply, and it does makes sense. I'll take a look through some more of the tutorials too.

Is there a way to get my site not just my posts to rank?

Everything is about keywords in regards to ranking. Your site title are keywords, pages, posts, image title or alt text, are all about keyword ranking. The more posts that you can get on page 1 on google serps, the more popular your domain will become. But there's also other factors but proper keywords are the main factor. Then you have social sharing, visitor engagement from comments etc...backlinking, site speed, site credibility, site trust all part of SEO. Just getting your site name to rank high you would need to read articles about branding, that is a subject of its own. Good luck

I've looked at various tutorials which explain how to get your pages to rank, but I'm a little puzzled about how to get my site to actually rank in google.
Its called "The Girl
You are definitely indexed. I did a site search and got back 29 results for your website (see image). Have you tried searching the keywords of your pages and posts. Most times your pages and posts will rank higher than your actual home page URL.
Thanks for this, I've tried it again on my laptop and still not showing for some reason, but if it's showing on your search that's great!
Clare
add more (relevant) content to your website. Google will rank your website at a good level if you do this. Just don't overdo it with over using key words and adding affiliate link, your rankings will go down. Keep adding good content and you'll see your rankings go up :)

Hi Guys, So I'm currently working on a blog in the lifestyle/ personal development niche, and really want to include some movie still images from TV and films like breakfast at Tif
as long as the screenshots, posters or movie images in themslves doesn't contain any watermarks or company names, you'll be okay. Yes.
I found this response while trying to find this information for myself. I have asked around here a couple of times, but have received conflicting answers.
