Still, having trouble setting up my menus they never move as per the tutorial?
And when I set up my widgets they never appear on my page?
You may install the classic widgets plugin and with the classic editor.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-widgets/
Initially you may download to your PC and then upload .zip files to your WordPress sites back office.
Or go to Plugins > Add new, input classic widgets, install and activate.
However in the standard view you may click the plus to add something or the three dots and choose to remove a block from the drop down menu.
However there was an update from Kyle regarding this, you may not have the option to choose the Classic editor in Settings > Writing and if so, you'd have to work with the Block editor instead. Core Training, Level 1 Refresh Complete! Hope this helps.
Hi Kevin...
it would help to know a little more because I presume you've already done the training.
Can you please explain what is actually happening?
:-)
Richard
yes, when I am in the back office of my website under appearance and setting up my menus and widgets they never change when I update them?
OK ... so it sounds as if you are making changes that are not showing on your site... so have you tried to clear the cached copy of the site?
To do that, go to Websites/Site Manager at WA and select the Details button for your website. If you scroll down a little you'll find the blue clear Cache button to press.
If that doesn't solve the problem, it could be cache held at your web browser. You could try a different browser, or open an incognito tab and look there and clear the cache when you're in the browser.
:-)
Richard
widget and menus are two different things. Where are you trying to put the widgets? Side or footer? Menus are controlled under Appearance and then Menus Are you trying to change the top main menu?
What do you mean when you say 'move'? Are you saving the menu once changes are made?
Are the placing the content in the appropriate areas of the widgets?

Whats it mean when it says to update my theme on my website?
How can I keep track of my traffic?
How can I keep track of my SEO rating and ranking?
Hi
Updated theme means a new version of the theme is available and I would update to keep site secure.
That's goes same with Plugins and WordPress when due.
However I would always back up site when doing major changes, you can use AIO WP Migration and Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.

I have just installed the relatively new, Google Site Kit on one of my sites. It helps to set up Google Analytics and Google Search Console from directly within the WP dashboard and provide some analytics directly in WP dashboard and links to the GA and GSC Apps.
It will take several days to settle down but first impressions are very good.

Hi Kevin
All you need beforehand is a Google account ... so if you have Gmail already then simply use that ...
Then get the plugin from WP dashboard...
Plugins / Add New and search for Site Kit by Google. Install it then activate.
When activated, at the top of the screen there's a big blue button to Start Setup ...
Then follow the instructions...
All you need beforehand is a Google account ... so if you have Gmail already then simply use that ...
It will take you through set-up of various Google Apps ... now I apologise, I can't remember exactly what the various stages are but it is easy.
I have set up GSC, GA and Pagespeed Insights so far. So start with those.
When you've gone through the initial set up you'll find all you need, to add more, under Site Kit / Settings at the top of the WP Dashboard left sidebar.
In addition, you can set up apps called Tag Manager, Adsense, and Optimize all of which I want to learn more about before I turn them on.
Once set up you can easily go direct to Google Analytics and/or other apps by clicking a link in the various apps, all of which are accessible under the Site Kit heading in the WP sidebar.
I was surprised by how easy it was.
If you get stuck at any point ask for help.

Updates of themes and other apps is a given most times you go to website building.
Suggested all updates be done before working on site, Kevin.

Sometimes the authors of the themes make changes to make their theme more efficient or to add more features (or to keep it secure). Just hit update and it'll update automatically.
