The Niche...
Ok, so as you may know, I've been having some trouble deciding on my niche. I've been here at WA for a little over a month and have been feeling like I'm really lagging behind on getting my website up and running. It's been very frustrating, but I've repeatedly told myself to keep going, keep pushing forward because once I complete the process it will be worth the stress I'm going through now.
A few days ago I asked a question in the group forum and I got a lot of amazing responses. There were some good resources I was presented with and it helped me to finally make my decision.
Originally I had narrowed my niche selection to two choices; 1. Bass guitar equipment and supplies (as I've been a musician most of my life), 2. Solutions to hair loss.
I know that might be a very odd combination but let me explain. The bass guitar niche is an obvious one, but I'm not sure if there is a solid market as many musicians out there may not have the extra money to provide a revenue base for my website....sorry, but it's the hard reality of being a musician in most cases.
So the alternate choice - Solutions to hair loss came from my own struggle with the condition. While my own situation isn't that bad, I have friends who have been devastated by their hair loss and it's an awful thing to witness. I know the terrible effect this can have on confidence and self esteem. So, as a musician and being onstage in front of large audiences and under bright lights....well...it can make one extremely self conscious.
I finally decided that for my first attempt I would choose solutions to hair loss as my first website. This way, its not just a matter of generating revenue for myself, but this choice will also give me an opportunity to provide help for those seeking a way to get their self-esteem and confidence back.
Crossing my fingers!

and look at it this way this can be you prototype and then when it takes off you can do the other niche with confidence all the best
I'm 66 and my crown is balding. I don't seem to worry about, but my wife and daughter's seem to. A former coworker has been bald since he was about 25 and got out of the navy. There may be any number of ways to promote this, some permanent while some may be an extended temporary solution. Best wishes as you proceed. Tom
I'm 58 Tom and it wouldn't bother me either, but it can be a big worry for younger people experiencing the problem. I remember being at school with a guy who was losing his hair!
As I was reading your blog, I was secretly hoping you chose the hair loss niche. :) I think it will be a great niche and you will probably learn a lot in the process, that might just help those who have this issue.
Great idea, can't wait to see what you do with it! Nice to meet you, by the way! Michelle
