The writing is the easy part, the editing is a giveaway, the selling is a headache.

trying to learn about social media has taken six years of my life and i still haven't learned a segments worth, i have a site on wordpress, chrislakinauthor.wordpress.com i actually wanted a web site, and it seems what i have is a blog page, can the two things be he same? i ask my self i don't think so, nothing works like a web site should do. sometimes i feel like staying in bed, that way nothing will go wrong, knowing my luck the bed would fall apart. the individual parts of writing a book are easy, IF YOU KNOW HOW IT'S DONE !

Chris, when I get down to the article titled dragonbride blog tour spot, I am only seeing half the article it is cut off in the blog roll and the pics aren't showing, just to let you know, the rest are showing fine though

make this a year of action and get out of bed for that way you know you will progress to achieve those things you desire, it is better to strive at something than to not try at all, break things down stay with the training and just do it then before you know it you will have gotten a website up and running, wish you all the best

Interesting, but what is this thing about staying in bed?

what kind of books have you written

Lol, probably better not to stay in bed! :) You will reach your goal! :)

Over the years I have found that folks that know what they are doing always make it look easy. Good luck with your website. Sounds like you are already good at writing books. So I don't need to wish you good luck at writing books. Ha..ha

I don't know - there are a lot of authors that have websites that have a continuing blog. They (or someone they hire) write about what's going on currently then subtly (or sometimes not so subtly) lead you into what their newest book is or what is coming in the future.

Hi Chris...I hear you! As for the social media deal, as I've said many times, I personally believe, especially more so shortly ago, but social networking is not all it is cracked up to be...especially Facebook...millions of people with no interest in anyone or anything, not really if honest, in anyone but themselves, and zero ambition. And lets face it, friends say they will support you, as will family, however when push comes to shove no one acts because they don't want you to get ahead...they won't tell you but that my friend is reality.
Now, Mgnaga, down below, gave some great adivce. And that is what I had to do to market my book ...as I have played this self-published game for many years and sold half a dozen books...and lost my hair trying, lol.
BUT HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS...if you follow the GET STARTED HERE, step by step as Kyle trains you...if need be, watch and read it again...but then, all of a sudden you have a cool site (and blog as homepage is best because your posts are changing all the time...that is good for SEO), that is 'monitized' as they say, and as I am doing, site under same title as book http://whyshouldibelievejesus.com, writing about my passion and introducing said book to viewers who are going to end up not just finding my search terms to see and/or hear about my book, but also affiliate item on site as well (take a look at how my site is set up. It is called a BLOG ROLL where the blog posts are the home page. If I wanted what is called a STATIC SITE, that means, it is an actual website, and that info doesn't change as often as posts to a blog. SO THAT GOOD NEWS IS, is that I googled my book title term 'why should I believe Jesus,' and I ended up on #1 page of Google, 2nd down...but that's not all...it was because of a 2 min video I placed on Youtube, that I set to show to post onto my Google+ page, and that is what ended up on Google #1 page, not the actual youtube post and not my actual site built here at WA. Whew...that was a long one but you can do it...if you have a book and you clearly like to write...take one last good dash at WA from start to finish of training and let the world hear about your book and the author behind it...GO GO GO GO, my friend...

Well Wininlife i may have to read this post again just to get all the helpful hints from it. I thank you from my heart and hopefully we will meet up someday and be able to thank you personally, for now i'm gone, gone ,gone Cheers my friend

Amen, Chris...amen...you are more than welcome. I'm a master of empathy, lol, as I can relate so, so well; and I've been researching and learning internet tactics for over 17 years...with zip until now, literally to show for it, and all thanks to WA and Kyle & Carson's winners circle :). Have a great weekend...keep me posted on what's happening and if I can help, I'm there :)

I'm getting that in the past, one wrote a book, then kept writing while the publishers did what they know best, getting the book out so that the writer could keep on writing. Now, after the task of writing the book, you are either publishing it yourself, or being in "partnership" with a publisher, after putting up a payment up front and then devoting yourself helping to get the book out. Who's going to write the NEXT book?

Luckily Katzee i have been writing while learning, i hope neither stop but at least the next few books are written already, just the publishing bit to do, so i space the release out and give myself a chance. Second one out at the end of this month, it's easier on KDP the print version will be later.

It seems you have not created a website,Go to "Get Started" go through the training step by step and get to where you create a website then learn how to manage it

Thanks mgnaga, for the follow and the great advice. I'm following you back hope to talk again.
