I was told to write on keywords with very, very low QSR. I
Traffic and QSR around 75 is a good rule of thumb. If you can find Traffic higher and QSR lower that would be preferable.

Sometimes I look at how common the topic I'm writing about is. If I'm writing about something fairly uncommon, meaning not many people have already written about, I would easily go with low search volume as long as QSR is below 30.
It is understandable that few people would be searching. For example, keywords related to new products.
However, when dealing with a highly competitive keyword, I tend to try different wording variations of the keyword until I find optimal QSR + High search volume. It needs patience and just playing around with words. Make sure your keywords DO make sense.
