Read the book. To sum it up, it's about working smarter not harder. Outsource repetitive tasks that is not your core competence.

In this manner, you can focus on what you're excellent at and be more productive and efficient.

I have implemented it in my own life and it works. My wife loves our new lifestyle. Thanks Tim Ferriss!

If I may be honest - your post was extremely difficult to comprehend because it was not even paragraphed, at the end of one's day this was difficult to concentrate on let alone read. I hope this advice helps you when you are writing your posts for your websites. I agree with Nomda Ploom below.

Hello Berny,

thank you for your comment.

Actually I did paragraph this post indeed. However as I discovered after posting it, in this "Discussions" section all the paragraphes are lost due to the fact that people usually put short questions up here. So it was the system's doing rather than anything else.

If you look at my other comments which were posted under the "My Blog" section on my profile, you can see that I do use paragraphs.

But I agree, my post above is unfortunately very hard to read in its current form but I can't really do much about it :(

Cheers,
Richie

I tried to edit the post just now and it sort of worked, however it still doesn't display the blank lines between the paragraphs as I wanted ...

Oh well, at least it's somewhat more readable now :)

Hi, I am familar with the concepts within the book- however just like The Secret and Abraham Hicks the concepts are lazily addressed by the majority of readers.
Ferris is an advocate of breaking processes down and then outsourcing the elements that you don't have to do yourself..and the value is in his analysis and perspective IMO.
Too often we are unwilling to understand that perspiration is necessary....If you have masses of $ you could break down what is offered here and break it down into components, go to Fiverr, O-Desk and the like and then outsource it all- you would spend an age working on the commissioning criteria, and you would make masses of mistakes if you had not understood the guts of what you were asking others to do first...
If you managed to work it all out and get it all down THEN AND ONLY THEN would you be left with a 4-hour work week IMO.
I am going to be the new 100 meters world record holder- I have found a shortcut...etc. LOL

GREETINGS Britophile,

Not having read the book, I'm merely posting from a outside perspective.
I've no conception of what a 4 hour work week would be yet in truck (not Lorry) driving I sometimes experience 4 hour work days.

I've read in some of the many "shiny object" programs, before arriving here to W. A., that to "achieve success" one need barter work upon others for minimal compensation thereby freeing up time for other business or pleasure pursuits.
Leveraging.

The idea seems plausible (4 hr work week) yet cannot be obtained through a 0-80 hour work week mindset, of which I possess.

Hopefully WE will read more on this subject.

CHEERS!!
Eric Gaither

Yep, the 4 hour workweek does sound irrealistic, I agree. However as I mentioned that is not my main concern. I honestly don't mind working full time on my business, putting in 8 hours a day if that gives the desired results at the end of the day (= no more slaving away in a depressing office and financial freedom).

But I just don't understand why he for example keeps banging his drums about getting VAs from the Far East who would work for you for cheap. What is the point, why would one need a VA? How, why, when and in what way will one be so busy that he needs a VA? These are the questions that I seemingly don't find answers for in his book.

Everything you need to know to succeed is right here at WA. The trainings are Top Notch. And highly specific to our needs. I stopped reading most of those kind of books soon after joining WA. They are very vague and generalized. I have made amazing progress SINCE.

I think its a great book, and it is great for thinking outside the box. Outsourcing your daily chores is a great concept. Not only you free your time, but you also empower others that actually need work.
If you like working for 8 hrs on your site its ok, but there are there are so many other things you can do for your marketing effort too. We have only 24 hrs a day, and we should be the most efficient when utilizing our day.

I haven't read his book. On one hand it sounds intriguing yet when you think about all the greats that have earned (and sustained) their money, I can almost guarantee they worked more than 4 hours. Just sayin'

I wish I could only work 4 hours!

Hi Richie, long time no hear, I'm like you and have heard totally different views on the book. I haven't read it myself, maybe this discussion will push me off the fence.
