What Are You Selling
Here are two challenges for you for today.
First Challenge is answer this question.
What are you selling?
That’s right you are selling something.
If does not matter if you are selling items from Amazon, ClickBank, using Adsense, or offering your own personal services such as content writing you are selling something.
If you are going to make money off your site you have to be selling something.
For people to give you money you have to sell something of value.
It does not have to be a physical product like a hamburger it can be information or training like here at Wealthy Affiliate.
No matter what it is something of value must be sold for you to make money.
No exceptions, no way around it.
For you to get money in your hand you have to sell something.
Well wait, my blog is about gardening and I am helping people learn how to garden better. That is great and I hope you enjoy it but you will not make a penny until you sell something.
You might sell gardening tools through Amazon or similar affiliate program, maybe eBooks on gardening from ClickBank or tools you have handmade among other things. You are going to sell something if you make money from your site.
If you are using Adsense to make money you are selling the traffic to your site to Adsense. You are still selling something.
With that said the first thing is to write down exactly what you are selling.
That’s right what are you selling in as few words as possible.
Next Challenge
Now that you know that the second challenge is in 1 or 2 sentences explain what you are selling so that if someone asked you then your reply would make sense to them.
For instance, one part of my business my answer would be what do I sell, Paid website traffic.
My sentence would be “I help people get traffic to their websites while helping them avoid the advertising scams that only lose money.”
For another part of my business, which is the one I enjoy the most, the answer to what I sell would be. Natural Products that improves health.
My long sentence would be, “I help people get healthy using a few natural products and teach others how to make money doing the same thing.”
Here is another way to look at it. If a friend of yours came up and said, “I heard you have a business on the Internet what is it you do?” What would you respond to them.
Saying I have a website I blog is not an acceptable answer.
How would you respond in only one or two sentences.
This is something you need to know and have in your mind when you are blogging, commenting on Facebook or getting ready to run paid or free ads.
if you cannot say in no more than two sentences what you are selling there is no way you are going to be able to write an ad with less than 100 characters.
So there are the 2 questions
What are you selling?
In two sentences or less tell us what you are selling.

the time comes when you write your first blog post or pick out a theme. You have to know what your ultimate goal is.
Yes most of the time we do not stop to think about how to say what we do in one or two sentences that makes sense.
Yesterday someone told me that this is a free country, I said I don't think this a free country. They ask me why. I said if I have to punch a clock and work for someone else that's not freedom.
I agree when someone decides when we are ready to start work. At what time we will be hungry and eat lunch. When we will go home to rest. When we will take a vacation. How much time we will spend with our loved ones then it is not a free country. That is why I got into this business in 2001 and walked away from a "secure" job teaching at a university.
Not too many people know what the definition of free is. At Target, we have a new manager up front. He's been there for awhile so I already knew who he is. The Sad part is he make excuses why I don't get any redcards. He thinks I only talk about the redcard when he is around. I'm thinking come on man, I'm a grown man, why would I do my only when you are around like I'm a child?
I have to wait til tonight because I wrote it last night, but I could not post it because I already posted 3 blogs. I'll post it tonight when I get home.
I'm a little over a week in. I fully expect to have it narrowed down and my decision on what to market by Thursday. Thank you for the advice.

Very well put, very clear, and gets someones interest. There are so many variations of what you just wrote that can be used in advertising. That is what works sentences like yours.
I sell natural food that keep you healthy, help you lose weight and foods that help you fight scary diseases such as obesity, diabetics and cancer.

I'm selling information and direction to give disability clients a place to turn to for reliable representation and answers to their questions. My problem is I have nothing on my site at all that generates an income (as of yet). My thoughts when I created the site was that ads would 'cheese" it up and make it appear less credible and compromise the "integrity" and intent of the site. I really did not originally plan on using it as a means to generate an income.
I was naive in thinking I would have both the time, energy and resources to grow the site for free as well as do other things I want to pursue.
Fast forward, I now know I can find credible products and services to add here and there on the site that will also generate myself an income without compromising intent of the site.
This is why I am here at WA now. I am trying to learn how to accomplish all that.

My gig is tough, and a couple times I have thought of giving it up. Then I'll get a comment from someone suffering from back pain or foot pain. Maybe a guy who has been independent all his life and then suddenly he can't take even a short walk without feeling excruciating pain.
Or a women who has to give up her job as a nurse, something she loves, because her feet feel like she's walking on hot coal. And more---
These people seem so grateful that someone is giving voice to their pain. "Hey, will a foot massager work?" " How about icing?" "Should I get a standing desk?"
These are some of the questions I get asked. Damn! I can't give up. I have to do better. So this is what I'm striving to do. Yes, I sure get it. So, keep positive.
