Is Vitamin D the Answer to COVID19 - Food for Thought

FEAR IS A GREAT WAY TO CONTROL PEOPLE, BUT KNOWLEDGE SETS YOU FREE.

I recently wrote another blog about this current pandemic and why you should not be so afraid of it. In that post I explained why people tend to get sick more often in the colder months of Fall and Winter. I then went on to explain what my doctor has recommended for ME to do.

Just like that post it is my intention of this post to not scare you but rather inform you and give you some food for thought. Seeing how vitamin D has been proven in many published studies to protects against the colds and flu virus, is vitamin D the answer to COVID-19?

Before I continue in providing you with some interesting facts I want to be clear about something. There has been NO testing of any kind of natural nutrient like vitamin D or C for the combating of this new form of Coronavirus known as COVID-19.

It is important to remember that COVID-19 is like the flu in regard to some symptoms, in how you can be infected, and how you can die from it. Those are the only similarities. Unlike the flu, COVID-19 is far more contagious, which is why so many are scared.

FIRST SOME FLU AND VACCINE FACTS

For about 30 years I have been using vitamin D3 as my natural flu shot. I stopped getting the vaccine because out of 150+ strains of constantly mutating viruses, the flu shot is designed to only protect against 3 or 4 strains. ONLY THREE OR FOUR!!! Did you know that fact?

If you were to go on the CDC (Center for Disease Control) website they will tell you which three or four strains the current flu vaccine is designed to prevent. Why only 3 or 4? In simple terms it's impossible to make a viable vaccine that contains more than four viral infections.

Pharmaceutical companies that make vaccines have been trying for years to come up with an effective universal flu vaccine that would give the immune system 100% protection. However, they continue to fail at achieving this goal. Thankfully nature already has something.

The CDC also answers questions in their FAQ section stating that the influenza vaccine does not give you 100% protection from all strains of flu, only the 3 or 4 contained in the vaccine. Each year scientists make an educated guess as to which four strains will be active.

The role of the influenza vaccine is to provoke an immune system response by mildly infecting you with an "inactivated" virus. This makes the immune system create protective antibodies to fight those specific viruses should a person get that specific strain of flu.

If those scientists are wrong (they are often) and the circulating strain of the flu is not one of the 3 or 4 in the vaccine, guess what happens? You get the flu. So I and my doctor agree that there is another option that makes the immune system fight against all strains of viruses.

100's OF STUDIES SAY VITAMIN D IS BEST

The Harvard Gazette is the official news outlet for Harvard University. The medical school at Harvard is one of, if not the top, medical school in the U.S. In 2017 they published the results of yet ANOTHER reputable study showing vitamin D protects against the colds and flu.

During the late Sprig and Summer months our bodies make vitamin D from the UV rays of the sun in adequate levels. In the Fall and Winter months our bodies stop making vitamin D from the sun. It is during the Fall and Winter months that most people get the colds and flu.

With vitamin D being an integral part of a healthy strong functioning immune system, logically you can see why people get sick during this time of the year. At the end of every September my doctor gives me a simple blood test called 25-HydroxyVitamin D or 25(OH)D.

This test will give you the accurate amount of vitamin D3 in your blood. If you have lower than 50 ng/mL of vitamin D3 in your blood you have a better chance of getting sick from the colds and flu. The optimal blood level range is between 50 to 70 ng/mL, see video below.

Notice that vitamin D deficiency can cause Respiratory Illness. The reason people can die of both the flu and COVID-19 is because of Lower Respiratory Tract Infections stemming from Bronchitis and Pneumonia. These are really bad complication of both types of viruses.

There are two types of Respiratory Tract Infections, Upper (URI) and Lower (LRI), with lower being the most dangerous. Coronaviruses cause infections in the URI when associated with the common colds and flu but can become worse with the LRI of Bronchitis & Pneumonia.

Logically one can assume that vitamin D could help. Not only does a vitamin D deficiency contribute to Respiratory Illness but increasing your vitamin D3 levels via supplements can reverse this by helping the immune system do its job more effectively and smarter.

NEW EVIDENCE THAT VITAMIN D PREVENTS RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS

One thing to remember is that vitamin D is not a drug so you can take it and it is not toxic. Your body naturally makes vitamin D every day during the summer whether you want it to or not. So toxicity is extremely rare, unless you are taking 30,000 IU or more per day.

How much should you take? That depends on how much is in your blood and the only way to know is to have your doctor give you a 25-HydroxyVitamin D blood test. I highly recommend that you get your doctor to do this before you decide to take more than 5,000 IU per day.

Though vitamin D3 should not be considered a cure all for the colds, influenza and other more contagious viruses like SARS, MERS and COVID-19, it should be considered as a powerful weapon in the prevention of these infections. High vitamin D3 blood levels is a proactive step.

When taking vitamin D supplements it is very important that you take D3 and not just D and especially not D2. Vitamin D3 is what your body needs most. Plus you do not need a lot. 5,000 IU is equal to only 125 MCG and that is plenty safe and effective even before a test.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT ON COVID-19

Now that I have provided you with information about colds and flu as well as vitamin D and the diseases a deficiency can cause, it is time to start thinking logically about all of this. If people are deficient in vitamin D and have these underlying health problems, what should they do?

When you are dehydrated, what do doctors tell you to do? Logically you should drink some water or a rehydrating drink like Gatorade. So if you are deficient in vitamin D, logically you should supplement with vitamin D3. As stated by Dr. Cannell, 5,000 IU is very safe.

Seeing how the most dangerous risk factors for the flu, COVID-19 and vitamin D deficiency is Lower Respiratory Tract Infections like Bronchitis and Pneumonia, raising your blood levels of D3 is vital. Vitamin D3 is extremely inexpensive and safe, you can buy it everywhere!

WHY WAIT 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR for a vaccine that may or may not be as effective or safe as vitamin D? You have the power to take charge RIGHT NOW! You must be proactive to remain safe from this new Coronavirus known as COVID-19. Discuss this with your doctor!

Is vitamin D the answer to COVID-19? With all the information & references provided here, one might think it could be. Do more research. Stop believing the negative hype surrounding this Novel Coronavirus. Here is a POSITIVE FACT - The majority of cases survive!

Here is another fact you may not be aware of. The closer you live to the equator of the earth, the higher your blood levels of vitamin D3 are ALL YEAR! Take a close look at both pictures below and see if you notice something very interesting in terms of COVID-19 outbreak areas.

Did you see it? Notice how the majority (not all) of the population that lives within that year round high blood level vitamin D zone near the equator does not have any major outbreaks of COVID-19. It would seem that perhaps vitamin D is one of if not the answer to COVID-19.

Sure there are some minor infection spots within that zone, but that can be from just a few infected people traveling from an infected area. For the most part, this new Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 has no real major outbreaks in an area of the world that gets the most vitamin D.

Now how is that for food for thought? Vitamin D deficiency is a global problem believed to be the cause of many diseases by researchers and scientists. The body's immune system requires vitamin D3 to make it run effectively, operate smarter, and stay strong year round.

If you are not taking 5,000 IU (125 mcg) of vitamin D3 right now, based on all the information published in medical journals all over the world and some info shared here, do you think you should be proactive and start? Vitamin D deficiency is dangerous.

I highly recommend you get your doctor to give you a 25-HydroxyVitamin D blood test ASAP. Even if you already take 5,000 IU (125 mcg), get yourself tested because you may need to take more initially. Make sure the test is 25-Hydroxy and NOT 125-Hydroxy.

EMPOWER YOURSELF WITH KNOWLEDGE

The reason why I have absolutely no fear when it comes to COVID-19, other viruses and even Cancer is because of the knowledge I have about the immune system and the all-natural nutrients that make it work at the best of its ability. Knowledge can quell the fear and hysteria.

Along with the information I shared in my previous COVID-19 post and the information I have shared above and below, I hope that I have empowered you to know that there are safe and effective all-natural options available to you right now. Be proactive. Do your research.

VITAMIN D MAY AID IN THE PREVENTION OF COVID-19 (DR. ROGER SEHEULT, M.D.)

Knowledge like this makes me more confident that we all have the ability to protect ourselves right now, despite the lack of testing from a pharmacological standpoint. God did not create a body that needs patented chemicals for health. An all-natural approach works best.

Remember, get your doctor to give you a 25-HydroxyVitamin D blood test to determine how much you need. Make sure your blood level is above 50 ng/mL and closer to 70 ng/mL.

Always consult with your doctor. If your doctor gives you the runaround or balks at the published clinical research, it could be that ego many doctors have of being shown evidence that they never knew existed. However, there are many other doctors available.
