With the Coronavirus spreading far and wide, so is the hysteria and the fear as people are becoming worried that they may get or have the virus known as COVID-19. The purpose of this post is not to further frighten you but to give you hope and facts as to why COVID-19 should not scare you.

THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE RECOVER

We are currently in a very infectious colds and flu season. If you are sick with one of those does not mean you have COVID-19. There are similarities between all the viruses. Some are more serious than others but they have many things in common like how you can be infected and prevent them.

Nobody likes getting sick but it is an unavoidable problem seeing how we live in a world infested with all kinds of viruses 365 days a year. For example, the flu virus is active and strong every single day of the year but most people get infected between the months of September to April.

Though there is a viable biological reason why the majority of people do not get the colds and flu during the Spring and Summer, that same reason can be used to both prevent and mitigate all kinds of viruses. The most logical approach to preventing infection is to first not panic and then follow simple guidelines.

Currently at the writing of this blog 109,765 people around the world have been reported as having COVID-19. It is safe to say that there have been thousands more who have been infected but have not been confirmed by a healthcare official. These people probably had mild symptoms and recovered.

Of that 109,765 "recorded" cases of COVID-19 only 3,802 have died and the majority, 60,960 have fully recovered, with 45,003 still being treated. You can keep track of all the daily updated totals of COVID-19 and a breakdown by country of infections, deaths & recoveries at the WorldOMeter website.

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF THAT WORKS

In addition to my affiliate marketing websites I make money in a few different ways. One of those ways I started 3.5 years ago after updating the website content of a local medical transportation company. They loved the work so much, they offered me a job and would pay me cash.

WOW! CASH MONEY? That was something I was not going to pass up! Plus I love meeting people and helping them. I also looked at it as a great way to introduce my affiliate marketing offers to a daily stream of potential customers. But to do this job I needed to be certified by the state.

I had to learn basic first aid, how to recognize and temporarily treat people with a stroke, heart attack, concussion, heat stroke, heat exhaustion, hypothermia, and accidental poisoning. I had to learn CPR and the use of an AED. I also had to learn how to protect myself from germs and toxin spills.

That last mentioned lesson has a big impact on how we can protect ourselves of viruses including COVID-19. Does a face mask protect from coronavirus? The answer is NO because the particle size of any virus is small enough to pass right through the mask. See link to video at bottom of this post.

Only an N95 Respirator Face Mask can prevent the wearer from getting the virus when close to someone who is sick. Any other type of face mask will not work. If anyone should wear a face mask it is the person who is coughing and sneezing so that they cut back on spreading their germs with others.

What does work best for protecting yourself is...

  • Wash your hands often and / or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer after touching surfaces that are often touched by others like door handles, counter tops, gasoline nozzles,...
  • Wear latex disposable gloves when going out in public when you know you will be touching many public surfaces
  • Avoid large crowded areas that may have people who are sick like hospitals, nursing homes, doctor office waiting rooms,... (NOTE: Healthcare providers are saying to stay home and self-isolate yourself if you have mild symptoms of the virus. Only if your symptoms are extreme should you come to the hospital.)
  • This is HIGHLY EFFECTIVE... Boost your immune system every single day. Immediately supplement your diet with antiviral nutrients. More on the one's I take below.

WHAT I AM DOING THAT WORKS

Those who know that I transport sick people to and from doctor offices and hospitals every day, ask me if I am worried about getting sick with COVID-19. My answer is always NO. I do many things to prevent me from getting sick from ANY type of virus and what works for one works for all.

I have known for 30 years that having a high blood level of 50-70 ng/mL of vitamin D will prevent most people from getting the colds and flu virus or make their symptoms very mild should they get infected. Published medical research confirms this. Seeing how COVID-19 is a virus vitamin D3 may help.

VITAMIN D3

This is why a majority of people do not get the flu between May to August when our blood is naturally at 70 ng/mL from the sun of the Spring and Summer months. Once the Fall and Winter months arrive, our bodies stop making vitamin D3 and supplementing with it is critical to reach optimal levels.

TURMERIC

I also take a very powerful antiviral / antibacterial / antimicrobial spice in capsules known as Turmeric. Curcumin is the main phytochemical in Turmeric and it has a well researched and a wide medicinal benefit beyond it being an antiviral against all types of viruses. Turmeric has been used since before Jesus.

VITAMIN C

I do not get my vitamin C from supplements, unless it is part of my daily multivitamin which everyone should be taking regardless. The bulk of my vitamin C comes from the raw fruits and vegetables I like to eat. Apples, Oranges, Grapes, Berries, Melons, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower & Leafy Greens.

ALPHA LIPOIC ACID

When it comes to antioxidants, including the three I mentioned above, Alpha Lipoic Acid is considered a Super Antioxidant. Why? All antioxidants are either Fat-Soluble (stored in the body longer) or Water-Soluble (not stored in the body). Alpha Lipoic Acid is a regenerator that is both water and fat-soluble.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS COST ME?

What I do which I listed above, has kept me from getting the flu in 30 years to only about 5 times and each time the symptoms were mild lasting only a couple of days. Before you ask...No, I do not and will not get the flu vaccine, especially since the CDC says it does not provide 100% protection.

Just by eating a well-balanced diet low in fried foods and higher in fruits and vegetables containing higher levels of vitamin C, along with the supplements mentioned above has worked quite well. This is also working well with COVID-19 too! Like I said earlier, all viruses react the same way.

The out-of-pocket cost for 8 months from September to April is just under $100.00 for all the vitamin supplements. That comes out to only $12.50 per month for effective protection from the colds and flu, including COVID-19. Not only is the cost great but these nutrients work with no negative side effects.

I get my supplements from a very popular and reputable company that has been in business since 1969 offering high quality for low prices. I really wish that Swanson Vitamins had an affiliate program but they do not. If they did, I would definitely promote their brand because they are absolutely the best!

My doctor is 100% supportive of this approach and even recommends it to many of his patients. You cannot catch COVID-19 or any other virus by just being next to another infected person unless they sneeze, cough, spit while talking or you come into contact with them. But you can protect yourself.

DO NOT PANIC

Unless you have an underlying medical condition, you are elderly, and/or you have a very weak immune system, your chances of recovering from COVID-19 are very high. If you do not have any of those risk factors, you should be fine. Do not let the rising infections scare you. The flu has killed more so far.

If you know someone who is coughing, tell them to wear a mask, cover their mouth and nose with their arms, strengthen their immune system, and stay home from work or school. If their fever starts getting high, go to the hospital. Know the symptoms between the two, they are different, see below.

The flu has several symptoms like sore throat, runny / stuffy nose, fatigue, and body aches. There is a good chance that if you have any of these symptoms, you do not have this novel coronavirus. You should still be vigilant in your approach to getting better seeing how the flu has killed 50,000+ so far.

As you can see COVID-19 has only three defined symptoms, which maybe one of the reasons why the majority of infections have been mild with those not within the high risk factors group. Notice the one symptom COVID-19 has that the flu does not have is Shortness of Breath.

Remember, unless you are within any of those higher risk groups (underlying medical condition, elderly age, weak immune system), you have a high percentage of recovering just fine IF you should get COVID-19. You have the ability to protect yourself now, so there is no need to panic.

The majority of healthcare providers will not tell you that there are very powerful antiviral natural products you can take to protect yourself now. Their main goal is to treat those who are already sick and not to recommend all the effective natural medicines God or Mother Nature has provided for you.

There is an old saying... "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Ramp up your immune system. This alone is the strongest act of prevention you can do because it will also make your symptoms milder and recovery quicker, should you get infected. There is hope but you must be proactive.

Again I highly recommend Swanson Vitamins in Fargo, ND. I get all of my vitamin supplements there because of quality and lowest prices. That link above is NOT an affiliate link. Swanson Vitamins does not have an affiliate program. Make sure to check out the COVID-19 info links below.

Thank you for all that important information. I have seasonal
asthma. And of course I get short of breath during the Spring and during the Fall. We are in the Spring now so I am a bit short of breath and worry as to what it actually it could be. So I take my temperature every morning and don,t worry as long as my temperature stays at 98 degrees. What other steps do you think I should take?

Seeing how asthma is associated to inflammation, I would try things that are known to be anti inflammatory in nature and include them in your diet in their unprocessed form. Garlic, Ginger, Honey and Turmeric can all be added to salads, soups, and other foods. Also drink clean filtered water. No more than 64 oz per day.

But it is good that you take your temperature, I do this too. If your shortness of breath is not severe and you feel it is related to seasonal allergies, I would consult your doctor to be sure. If your shortness of breath becomes severe, I would highly recommend you call your doctor ASAP or go to the hospital.

Thank you for your recommendation. I do take Ginger, Honey and Garlic i put in my foods, but I know I should use more. Definitely I will add Turmeric to my diet.

Thank you very much for your advised.

My pleasure.

Hi Lydia - I agree with Boomergp08! For the turmeric here’s a good recipe. I’ve recently started taking it as a cup of tea. My friend who does Ayurveda told me to put 1-1and 1/2cup water to 1/4 tsp of powdered ground turmeric and a pinch of fresh ground black pepper then add into the pot and mix together with half lemon added and 3/4-1 tsp honey then simmer for 3 mins. Wait for water to stop steaming before adding honey. I love ❤️ this drink. It’s very satisfying and reduces inflammation. 🥰😍 You can also double the batch. I drink it in the morning after a glass of room temperature water. Or you can drink it in the evening an hour after dinner to fire up digestion. Enjoy 😊

I am a BIG FAN of Turmeric Tea. I will have to try that recipe myself. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi 😀 yay me too YW 🥰

Hey Robert,

As always you give perfect information :)

This is what I did when we got the warnings coming out of Italy:

In my system I put COVID19 as flu, a dangerous one but in fact, most flues are dangerous and since I'm not on medication, out of my normal vitamins and a daily portion of turmeric :) I decided to keep a bigger distance from other people, I normally keep a distance of about a meter and I doubled being active, walking more with Monster, so he loves this "threat", normally walk about 5 kilometers, now at least the double :)

Besides this, I use my hall as sluice (good word?) to the outside world, so first round of cleaning my hands and leaving shoes, coat and gloves out of my apartment and during this period fewer people are welcome here.

Outside I also wear a very big headset so people, don't have the idea they want to start talking with me :P

I wish all a great time with keeping this virus out of your system, see it as a flu......a dangerous one though and do everything as you always do to keep colds out of your place in combination with the great advice written above :)

Farid

Thank you Farid for sharing your protocol and may you continue in health and stay safe. Keeping a strong immune system and live a healthy lifestyle will help greatly.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for your detailed information on COVID-19. There has been panic from many countries & even fighting in stores all over toilet tissue. Unbelievable!

I also prefer natural remedies for any illness, wherever possible. My daily routine of Tumeric + unfiltered Apple cider vinegar has kept me free of cold or flu for many years.

Denis

Thanks for sharing your natural remedy, I have both but don't use it in this combination.
Do you use the powdered Tumeric or capsules/tablet?

I use it in powder form & add black pepper. Capsules may be more effective, however the powder is an economical way of taking Turmeric with so many other benefits.

Denis

You are welcome Denis and thank you for sharing your natural regimen. Apple cider vinegar is something I have been meaning to use with more regularity. I too use turmeric with black pepper but in capsule form as it is much easier for me to take while on the go.

Thanks for that comprehensive presentation Boomergp08. This is very helpful to the community. A lot of us are getting panic due to the lack of knowledge on the subject. Your contribution here has set many minds at ease. Please continue to give the necessary updates, hints, and tips.

THE VALUE OF THE WA COMMUNITY.

One Love.

It was my pleasure and I will soon post another blog to help inform the masses with more facts that can put their mind at ease.

Thank you for providing such a thorough look at the Corona Virus, it has certainly stirred up quite a bit all over the place!
I do feel some people are overreacting (I'm not sure how toilet paper will protect you from a virus! haha).

You have provided great tips and resources to staying safe and healthy.

Thank you!
Heidi

You are welcome. That entire toilet paper thing is such a stupid reality. People overreact about something that has no relation to the current situation. It's like people freaking out before a huge approaching snow storm. LOL

Right! I do appreciate all of the funny memes going around about it!
