How to Get Google Rankings without Keywords

You are sitting in front of your computer monitor, looking at a blank screen and trying your hardest to think of a keyword to write your content around. You type a few words and then you stop, frozen in place, your mind searching in circles for that ever elusive keyword. You think to yourself, what am I going to do? I have to get this content written but I can’t think of any keywords to use for it.

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER

Just write your content without any targeted keywords. You do not need to have targeted keywords for every page or post on your website. You can still get ranked in Google without them. Yeah, I know what you are thinking. How can that be true? That’s because Google ranks your webpages and posts based on your entire content and not just specific keywords. This is why content is king.

Now don’t get me wrong. Keywords are important especially for marketing purposes but they are not always needed for every page and post that you create for your website. This should be a great revelation because that means that if you get keyword block and you cannot come up with keywords, just write an engaging and informative page of content and you will do just fine. There is no pressure to always come up with keywords for your content.

AM I SERIOUS ABOUT THIS

Yes I am serious and do you know why? Because both Kyle and Matt Cutts say so. Kyle has a video in the Boot Camp courses where he explains about keywords. He says within the first 5 minutes of the video that "not every single page on your site is going to need to target a keyword". He then explains why within the last 3 minutes of the video.

If you are having trouble coming up with keywords for some of your content, just write your content without them. If you are still unsure if you should or not, watch Kyle’s training video below about a lesson on keywords. Pay close attention to what Kyle says in the first 5 minutes and the last 3 minutes.

Boomergp08, thanks for the info. Really appreciated it.

You are welcome. I'm glad you liked it

Thanks Robert, it takes the pressure off a bit! I sometimes spend so much time looking for the perfect keyword that I don't get around to writing content. Lydia.

I used to be like that too Lydia but then after I viewed this video writing content became easy again

Thanks for this! Sometimes I get so wrapped up in key words that I forget about the bigger picture!
My brain is clearer now.

You're welcome. I'm glad I have contributed to a clearer brain. :)

I was only thinking about this issue this morning and wow here is the reminder from yourself and Kyle. Thank you!

You're welcome Greg. I'm glad I was able to share Kyle's keyword video in a timely manner to you. :)

Robert, this is something we all need to hear, it is potentially liberating and you have given people enough reason to trust what you say- if it is good enough for Matt C, Kyle and you, we can just go with it! for sure, Andy

Whenever I can't think of a targeted keyword for my pages and posts, and that happens sometimes, I just write the content without them. I have had pages that I didn't use a targeted keyword ranking within the top 3 pages of Google.

You are right about that, our homepage and other pages have keywords. If we're writing similar content we don't always need keywords.

Exactly! I have had content rank very well without any targeted keyword in mind. I just wrote good content and Google liked it.

This is good news for many and some of us get keyword crazy and forget the reason why we are online is to produce meaningful content. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome and yes, always write your content to give good information to your reader first.

WOW! this is truly really indeed a very good news Robert! My mind at ease right now, what a relief! Hail to content!

(but, hhmm.. it's April 1st.. well, almost.. is not an April fool, no? right?.. wait, where's my key? I lost it lost again! he.he.he..)

Merci beaucoup, monsiour Prescott! C'est une joie! ..^_^..

It's still March 31st where I am gusti so no, it's not an April Fools joke. :)

have you seen my key?

Key or KEYword? :-)

KEYword finder is Jaaxy, but my s-d-b key? hhmm..

Maybe you should get another KEY made and keep it in your wallet.

great idea! nitey nite Robert! sleeping time.. ..^_^..

I know what you're saying is true. I always write my content first as it's easier to see the main focus once my thoughts are fully expressed. Then I go for a title with appropriate key words and tweak my content as needed.

But even without this content does get ranked. I learned that before I even learned about keywords..

Exactly Nancy! Like Kyle says in the video, you should not put so much emphasis on keywords and should just write content.

I have been very surprised to see some of my blogs rank for keywords that I never even considered.

And now you know why Bo. Because Google indexes the entire content and will rank you for the natural keywords within it.

I agree, my site also comes up for stuff I never thought of either :)
Things got a lot easier (and better) for me when I decided to "just write" interesting content (I hope haha) rather than try to figure out how to please the search engines with targetted keywords all the time.

You should never write content to please the search engines because your content is not for the search engines, it's for your readers. That's why writing content shouldn't be hard if you "just write".
