I have a few domains that I think will be great directories names. Can someone help me build a good one. I need some ideas, or if you have a directory page I would love to see

The follow the courses answer really doesn't answer anything does it?

What are the best themes for a business directory site?
It needs to be versatile, powerful, effective and easy to use.
If you follow Certification Courses just repeat what Kyle is doing and you will have the site built. Everything is covered.
Theme is not important, you can change any time (at least in the beginning).

I am doing the courses and i have a couple web pages up and running pretty well but a directory is a different page, is not like those affiliate pages we are learning here they are for local marketing, I have done one in the past but i didn't like it. I want to know if someone here does that kind of marking and can give me some ideas.
I want to build like a YP kind of thing.
I have been working with a Wordpress site offline for a while now. This is quite a task the way I've been doing it. I plan on it becoming a huge enterprise eventually.
Are you working on a local directory, a national directory or global one?
They will all have similarities. A good starting point regardless the size of your directory would be to scout out similar sites such as Yelp etc. as I have done.
As far as a theme goes, you can simply type directory into the search option on your sites theme page to bring up any free directory themes.
You can also visit the links in suzieq's post to find premium themes.

The domain i want is already taken so getting a .net .org or even a .us is a good or bad idea?
I would try to find a variation with .com. namemesh.com or similar domain name generator sites can help you decide on a variation if you wanted to brainstorm.
I know everyone says if you can't get a .com get .org first then a .net - then whatever - but I never bought into that.
I was in the same boat many years ago and I got the .net the site now does over $50,000 a year.
.net ranks just as well as a .com - and I've never bothered with .org and never would.

When you use All in One SEO to verify for google, be especially careful that you only paste the characters *between* the quotation marks. Yes why not?Since you have the right. Are they on Amazon or do they have affiliate links? If no you probably want to add on the shop visual for readers's buying experience. Or maybe add a PayPal button with links to your pay pal.
