How do I go about removing Site Kit without losing connection to Analytics and Search Console? Do I simply go through the process of manually adding the code for these?

Kyle has you covered. I don't use the Site Kit.

https://www.wpbeginner.com/wordpress-performance-speed/

you can just add the codes ot a plugin like ad inserter then deactivate and delete sitekit....
it is what we used to d obefore site kit was around without issue....

You must manually add the Google Tag analytics to your website if you remove the Site Kit. You will need to use a code plug-in or use your SEO for that.

Thanks, Brenda.

This will break your connection between your site and analytics, i don’t really recommend it. Page speed insights will show analytics and Google side functions being loaded regardless of how you install it.

I don't know what else to do to improve my page speed. It's really slow on mobile. Even for pages with only text. Could it be plugins giving me grief?

You should be able to deactivate it from your plugins section, mate.

Yeah, just that. Nothing else. I'm trying to piece a campaign together and all I need are the prices.

New's forthcoming early next week, but I can send details to you here. I will drop you a PM.

OK, Thanks Kyle. Have you guys just about got all the old fluff taken care of on the site?

Also, do you overwrite last years Black Friday info? I found some for 2021 and 2022.

I hope you will be able to delete most of the old stuff. I know it's a daunting task.

Also, if you don't have old posts etc flagged maybe ask the community to help tag them for removal or consideration.

I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier when I was finding old posts about Black Friday. But that would be a good way to get some free help.

I installed the H5P plugin into a test site to try it out and I'm unable to install the documentation tool content type.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

watch out for your site speed with this plugin it appeared pretty heavy last time i used it - which is a shame as it has a lot of good features....

OK, Thanks a lot Phil. It's an experiment at the moment.

Nevermind! Third time's the charm!

Case CLOSED!

Oh! Thanks for the update.

👍😁

I want to completely rewrite a post on my site, including the title. Should I just delete it and create my new post or overwrite the old post?

Old post title: Lead Captu

You are well covered here with some excellent advice, and guidance.

Please let the community here know if you still have any further questions.

You have FANTASTIC responses here :)

If editing old posts, you can edit ALL except changing the URL, especially when indexed. Changing the URL to Google it would be a new post; any ranking that has been done would be lost.

However, I would rewrite a new post, as the others have stated.

Thanks Abie, but the article in question isn't ranking, so not a problem there. It is fairly new. I want to change the title to one better optimized with a better keyword.

Oh, and by the way, I deleted the links.

You can internal link to a post that is

I'd write a new one with the new title and tidy up the old one without changing its title.

That's all well and good, but they are pretty much the exact same subject.

There's nothing wrong with having multiple posts on the same subject. That's the whole point of topic clusters.

Hmm, I'll dig deeper into the two posts and see if they are dissimilar enough to keep them both then.

You and Roby may have just saved me from making a big mistake!

How about this, I add the new post and would you guys help me determine if it's OK to keep them both?

Sure. Just give us the URLs when available.

Why rewrite your post?

Because it is an old, poorly written post and is in direct conflict with my new post and the new title is a much better keyword.

Thanks Roby... You guys may have just saved my bacon!

I edited the sample page when I began working on a website and just noticed the slug is still "sample-page" I wanted to change the page title anyway, but was worried about the

You can change that.

You can delete the page and start a new one.

I usually delete the Hello World post and the Sample page.

I normally delete them too, I have no idea how this one got by me.

Thanks so much for responding. I think I would be lost without you guys! Especially you because you seem to always respond. 🤓👍

You're welcome, RL; kindly let us know how else we can help.

Oh, you know I will. Thanks again.

Np :)

One of the first things I do on a new site is delete the sample pages and post.

There's no real issue changing the slug (quick edit). The page is unlikely to be indexed and even if it is, the only people searching for "sample page" would be scammers.

That's good logic Phil. I appreciate that. I normally delete the sample page right off the bat as well. I have no idea why I messed up here.

What do you think about moving a page from my base domain to a subdomain? I'm not sure how long ago I created the page but it is indexed.

I know I can have it removed with Search Central, but would it create an issue by being moved to the subdomain? You think I should rename the page? it sort of needs to be what it is or very near to it as it pertains to an ebook of that name.

The base domain is 4 years old. The subdomain isn't all that old. The subdomain is about 1.5 years old. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Thanks for chiming in with your help. I really appreciate it.

It doesn't seem like a lot of people do that.

I'd just change its name and the slug. It won't take long for Google to sort it out.

I'm not a big fan of sub-domains.

Thanks Phil.

Hi RI.

Here is a link you can check out. This is beyond my scope of interest.
If you are patient, someone in the WA community will step up to find a solution to your question. Rachele

Thanks Rachele. It's not an issue of removing a page. It's more of an issue of can I at this point without causing a redirect nightmare? I do appreciate your response and suggestion.

Sure, RI.

Phil got you covered. Have a great day.
