Launched My YouTube Channel - Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate Training
SOOOOOOO excited to finally post my very first YouTube videos. Participated in Jay's training maybe a month ago and gleaned the courage and confidence to decide to put myself out there on this new medium.
A Little Piece of Silliness First
My first was just a fun & silly little 2 minute inspirational video to help me test working with YouTube. Mermaid themed goal-setting advice. Like I said, silliness...but I do have a bit of a silly streak AND I do have big goals AND I liked to pretend I was a mermaid when I swam as a child (who am I kidding...still do!). So the video is a little slice of me.
But my second video was an inspiration I'd had around Christmas, but didn't have any of the know-how or skills to act on. However, I DID have Wealthy Affiliates! The vision was to create truly visually-rich and beautiful, targeted divine light meditation videos which wove together strings of gorgeous and uplifting images in the color of the ray worked with. All the while, I would guide the listener though the process of invoking the light, connecting to the Higher Self Point of Spiritual Knowing, then down-raying the light to each of the four major spiritual centers (AKA chakras), as well as to the body.
Not knowing where to start, I logged in to WA to be greeted by an announcement of Jay's Friday Night webinar--how to make and post videos to YouTube!
Searched for a Video Making Software and Stock Video Site
The WA video did recommend some software, but I needed something that offered a very easy
to use library of stock video and photo images. So I looked around in our amazing community for answers!
Then, I found some suggestions, and also learned how to make custom intro and outro for each of my videos.
Once I had all the right tools, and now the confidence from the support of our beautiful affiliate community, that was a wrap!
Launched My Divine Light Higher Self Guided Meditations Series
So the second video is the first in a series that is the reason why I wanted to start using YouTube : Divine Light Higher Self Guided Meditations.
My very first is with the Purple Ray of Peace.
It is for relaxation, stress/anxiety relief, release of fear/worry, and to help get into the silence of peace and the peace of silence.
Though I don't find the need to work with the Purple Ray so much in my daily life, it seemed fitting now to help me overcome my own nervousness about recording my voice!
Oh, yeah, I also knew what to look for in a recording mic. Settled on a Blue Yeti and I LOVE it.
Helping Others Experience the Light & Commune with God
Wanted to give people an experience of communing with God through their Higher Self as they immerse themselves in His/Her divine light and thus receive God consciousness more directly and intentionally.
It's a practice that has changed my whole life and I just wanted to help get it out there for others who might be looking for this same work.
Results so Far...
Results thus far are simultaneously encouraging and discouraging.
Encouraging because with my second video I got an official welcome from YouTube recognizing me as a "content creator."
Chest puffs out. Yeah, that's right! I am!
Also encouraging: did get 43 watchers, 6 subscribers so far, 3 likes, no dislikes and a nice comment. It has only been a couple of days for a new channel.
Discouraging because the average time people listen to my 12-minute video is 2 minutes 32 seconds. I had my suspicions about what exactly was happening at that point in the video, but I double-checked just to confirm.
Yep. Just what I thought.
Exactly when I start reciting this holy, ancient, mystical prayer to connect with the Higher Self and really commune with God--to experience the other half of prayer, the receiving--the average listener drops off right there with the words "Heavenly Father, Holy Mother God."
Rejection. In the digital universe, I'm gonna have to get used to it.
So be it.
They are not my audience then!
Hold the Vision, Trust the Process
Still going to keep putting these out there though.
Even if I help only one other person get what they were looking for, it will be worth it.
Plus, making videos is so much fun!
And just enduring the experience of making a video gave me even more respect for content creators who make videos I like to watch. It is a LOT more work than I realized.
But just imagine how much harder it would have been without Wealthy Affiliate training and community?
You guys were the difference between putting something out in the world that was pretty great versus keeping it all perfect but still stuck in my head.
Love to You All,
Desa Abbamondi
