True Texan, born and raised. Hanging my hat in Dallas. Though I have a day job I absolutely love--being both the lead florist and chief cash accountant for a Whole Foods Market--and every day I pour all I've got into it, there's this inner prompting that it's time to move on soon because I've maxed out my potential for growth here. Like every soul on the planet, I have a certain purpose and destiny in this life, and it is calling me onward and upward.

Not knowing where the next steps in my career were going to take me, nevertheless I put my leadership on notice that within 1 to 3 years max I planned to farewell the company I've been privileged to serve for almost 10 years.

Such bold declarations felt a little scary, but I've learned its best to trust that still small voice.

It was funny and strangely satisfying to see my bosses and customers start freaking out about the prospect of me being gone in a few years--it's not even like its that soon! Funny because I was once the worst employee with the worst attitude and work ethic ever when I first came here all those years ago. Not being modest, just straight up for real. It is a miracle I got to stay on working there.

Excellent leadership, a profound spiritual journey, tons of grace and stark necessity forced me to transform my former approaches to work. My leadership and colleague reactions to my announcement of impending departure were proof that I had come a long, long way.

I needed to serve my time here all these years for it offered me so many gifts of growth and character. Humility, self-control, honoring my talents, and selfless service were the lessons I needed to absorb before I could be fit to move on, and working retail for Whole Foods Market gave me the best learning opportunities and tests in those areas! Always I will have a place in my heart for this job and company.

It is said you cannot leave a place until you love it. Now I know why that is so.

If you don't love it yet, you still have much to learn about work and service, teamwork and sacrifice, energy and integrity, ability to embrace constant change and learning, passion and pride in your work--all these things are required of good business people.

Picking my replacements, I've begun the long work of pouring everything I know into these sweet young ladies who will have the excellent opportunities this job has afforded me when their training is complete, and I am gone. Writing, teaching, and working are passions for me, and I plan for death to find me still working my bum-bum off long into my 90s.

But what are the next steps, I wondered? All I know is I have the skills and talents I have, and knowledge I am meant to help share with the world. How do I pull it all together and get these teachings out there?

Being a writer, blogging had a strong appeal but seemed so overwhelmingly confusing and complicated. So much conflicting info out there. If I do this, I wanna do it right! Online and direct marketing has long piqued my interest too, but I always managed to find the scum-burgers in this biz whenever I forayed in to explore its possibilities.

Still, I couldn't just give it up.

If I could somehow find a way to figure this out, gain the skills I need and have the time to learn and apply those skills, I knew blogging and affiliate marketing would satisfy everything I desire from my work: the opportunity to write, help people, share important metaphysical teachings, make my own schedule and build skills that would help other business people and organizations in my life be successful.

When my last close shave with an online scammer helped me stumble upon Wealthy Affiliate, I knew I'd found the right resources at the right time.

And the timing could not be more perfect. Now, my schedule provides me three days off a week. We are still childless for now, and our income is more than adequate for our needs. I have the most supportive network of friends and family and spiritual community. My faith is strong. I know who I am and where I come from and a strong idea of where I am headed. Additionally, I've found other fantastic resources to help me hone my writing and speaking skills.

Most importantly, I am now a patient person, a hard worker, a recovering procrastinator, a lot more humble and a whole lot less selfish. There's no sense of wanting this just so I can rush away from a job I hate, flipping everyone off as I go, sitting on my butt at home, doing the bare minimum with ample funds for a life of endless, meaningless pleasure and self-gratification.

That's not what I want! That's what the old, immature, and clueless me wanted. Now I am willing to surrender to the process for as long as it need take.

Now, I want to be successful at this to add to the value I can bring to everyone else in my life, to maximize my potential for service and growth, and above all to claim full responsibility for my place in the divine plan and serve well.

Thank you for taking the time to read all that if you did!

This bio is meant to be a daily reminder to myself of where I come from and why I am starting on this journey, so I didn't want to leave anything out.

Here's to all of our success!

In Love & Light,

Desa Abbamondi

Hey Desa, just wanted to pop back and see how you are doing? I noticed that you haven't quite set-up your account yet, just wanted to let you know there is a video on how to do this if there is any confusion. Setting up your account will lead to much better help here within the community as people feel like they can connect with you better (with an image and a description)

Just wanted to make sure that all was good and if you do need a hand with anything, just let me know! :)
