There Are Two Types Of People. Which Are You?
What Are 'Why' People?
Catchy title right? Well it's true there are two types of people out there in life and in business I have found this to be true. Either you a 'why' person or a 'what' person. Let me explain...a 'why' person questions everything about everything for example, "why do I have to write so much conntent?", "why do I need to be Premium to be successful"? "Why do I have to build relationships with people"? Why do I have to follow the training exactly"? You get the idea, we hear it all the time here at WA and elsewhere. "Why do I need to do this and why do I need to do that"? We all know people like this and heck I have been guilty of it! I am faaaaaarrrr from perfect!
What Are 'What' People?
Then there are the 'what' people. I am a work in progress but like to think I am on my way to being a 'what' person but let me explain...a 'what' person will do whatever it takes to be successful online or in life. They don't question the process, they see that it has worked in other people's lives and they think, "if they can do it why can't I? 'What' people are inquisitive and have a thirst for knowledge and are generally 'action takers'. "What do I need to do to be successful"? "What did you do to be successful"?,"What do I do to get to the next level"? 'What' people ask "what is the solution"? Not "what is the problem"? 'What' people tend to see the bigger picture and are resolute in their quest to for success. 'What' is a good thing, 'why' not so much!
I hope this made sense! Honestly and I can only speak for myself but I think we are all a little of both to some degree but with the community and training here at WA I think everyone can progress and be a 'what' person! That is my goal!
What are you? A 'why' or a 'what'?

Great post, interesting to read it, I am probably fit to the two types, with the difference to be more the" What"

I don't think you are using the right words here. A why person in your example is a complainer. To me a why person would be the one that asked the better questions to do the best possible jobs.
That also means your what person is more likely the why person. In order to be successful, you have to understand the why or nothing will even get to what.
You could have included a how person so that you could be a who, a what, and a how. How can I make my solution the best, how can I generate the most hype, how can I reduce costs, how can I...
When person, when can I stop, when will it be done, when can I go eat, when when when is more of the child in us.
Where person would be - where am I needed, where is the problem the biggest, where can I get a better price, where can I learn that the quickest...
Give this some more thought :-)

Hi Chris, I guess we are a mix of the two, sometimes we need to question and sometimes we need to take action. I would add another type into the equation the " how person ", some folks have an amazing capacity to sit down and work out how it works or how are we going to do that.
Like all things, it can be about recognizing where we sit on the scale of things and where we are transitioning to. thanks for the insights, you have got me thinking.
I think a healthy mix of both can be good, but if you are asking "why" when it comes to having to do work, then that is problematic.
The why questions can lead to a great deal of learning, but the what questions in the context of "what will it take to get to XYZ" will dictate what you achieve. If you aren't constantly asking questions of this nature, you won't be progressing.
I totally agree, keyword being "healthy mix" and it is all in the context of the 'why' question for sure that can hamper progress.
I definitely think that I am a "what" person with a dash of "why" thrown in.
I've never really seen the need to question "why" in the sort of things that you've described, especially here on WA. The process works, so what do I need to do to go after my dreams?
Take care.
Exactly! We have everything here at WA we need to be successful we need to as Nike says '"Just Do It"!
