Affiliate Marketing Webinar

Last Update: October 10, 2014

The other day I received an invitation to attend a webinar for an affiliate marketing webinar being facilitated by Mark Ling. Now, I don't know him nor had I ever hear of him before. So, I decided to sign on just out of curiosity. The subject was "How to earn $112K a month".... Thought it couldn't hurt.... besides we need to know about our competition - right?

I logged on at the designated time and after awhile he came on and started the webinar. We were having some bad weather here in Puerto Rico so I was hoping I can stay logged on for the duration of the Webinar. Anyway, he presented some amazing stuff. The main idea of the Webinar was to show us how to create one page websites and earn from $500 a month to $112 K a month by promoting these one page sites or newsletters. He would teach us how to find the niche and provide the "business in the box" from soup to nuts and all we need to do is drive traffic to these sites. In a way he was professing to teach us how to build a site, get a niche and drive traffic to these one page sites.

I listened to the end so that I could find out what the bottom line was....well, of course there was an upsell and he went on to tell us how much he spent on getting this information together and all the expenses etc. etc.etc......

The cost was $997.

This was the discounted and rock bottom amount. It occurred to me that we were getting all this and more from our trainings and websites and community here in WA (which by the way he did not offer) and OK we did not get the autoresponders and his copy for emails.....

I was just amazed at how he professed to want to help newbies to start their own businesses and to be successful, but, he was really trying to sell his program and used the urgency close that they would not be able to keep this sale open after the webinar so we had to act right away.

This pitch gave me the "willys"..... and at the same time I wanted to believe him. But, this is the same scam I would fall for when I was desperately trying to find online opportunities to earn extra income.

I was looking for a way to earn extra income....how was I to afford $997?

Am I wrong? Did I miss anything here.....

Thoughts and comments please.......

"I wanted to believe him"

That's what all Scams and Cons are based on. I know that $997 doesn't sound like nothing, but compared to $112K a month (really!) it would be. That something for nothing desire is what keeps those scams going.

"You can't cheat an honest man", is an old cliche. But, you can be honest and still dream about some golden opportunity being dropped in your lap. It has, welcome to WA.

It seems like every scam out there uses the same techniques. They sound really good and they know what to say to get people's money. I think that is why they are so harmful. WA is the only place that I've been that is not from the same cloth.

I so agree with everything you say. I got so tired of all the hype that I stopped looking at biz opps until I stumbled upon WA. I've been talked into scams by people I trusted so they could make income from me. WA is the only place where I feel like I will finally make it...and succeed! Thank you for reading my post. Have a great weekend! Angela

It is a scam. You already knew that.
If money can be made so easily, he would be a millionaire already. Why does he needs to sell you anything?
If he is genuine, he should give it out for free.

My sentiments exactly MisterWailor. He is the only one making money and he'll gladly take yours so he can pretend to help you make some. It's a vicious cycle. Thank you for responding. Have a nice weekend.

I'm with you all the way on this one. I've seen sooo many before. $997 is a heck of a lot of money for someone trying to make money. Wouldn't it be nice if someone with an honest approach would say "don't worry about it .. pay after you make your first $2000??? That would mean that they were confident in there teaching abilities! Great blog!
