My Site is Finally Up
I am finally making some milestones. I was really stuck for awhile when it came to building out my content. I just couldn’t get anything written down the way I wanted it to be and it seemed like it was taking forever for just one post to come together. I think it's just because I’m not used to doing it. Hopefully, since practice is supposed to make perfect, the more content I write the faster I’ll be able to write it. Just getting the font the way I wanted it and then the media uploads and links was taking a lifetime, but I was able to get a few posts down on my website, get some feedback and comments on it and now I’m feeling pretty good.
Another big issue to deal with was getting a Gravatar. That has been a nightmare! When searching out information on WA it seems to be that there are quite a lot of other people having this same problem. I was finally able to get that taken care of (after countless days spent on it, having the Gravatar website continue to tell me that they’ve sent me a confirmation email but I would never get it, and then having the forum thread on their website ask me questions, to finally finding my answer on WA by another member who had the same issue). Just to put it out there, I’m not too keen on the Gravatar thing. The whole reason it even came up was because when I got to lesson 6 of course 2, I couldn’t participate in the “sitecomment give and take” if I didn’t have a Gravatar. I ended up getting stuck on this lesson and couldn’t really move forward without participating. Of course I could say that I did all the assignments and check off the boxes and continue on to lesson 7, but hey, that’s not how I role. I wanted to check off the tasks boxes of the lesson when I had really finished them.
So, holding steadfast to my honesty, I finally got my Gravatar and was able to do the last two tasks and check off those boxes. Now I am well on my way with lesson 7. I just got to hunker down and get more content out there.
Just in case any of you find you’re having difficulty with getting an email confirmation from the Gravatar site, here is the link to a blog by a WA member who had the same issue and whose advice I followed and it worked!

Great job! At first I think content is hardest, but once it starts flowing, your content creates content..never a shortage of something to write about.
Thanks Jay! I hope that's the case. I have a hard time getting started on something to write about, but then once that little brain freeze passes, I'm okay. It's always trying to get those first few works out!
My problem exactly. My brain locks up and I stare into space for an hour, lol. But then once the light kicks on, I'm cruising and a few hundred words are nothing. I have a problem trying to get it perfect the first go, and this is my hang up now, rewrites and rewrites and sometimes deleting a whole article. My goal at the moment is publish 2 pages a day. If i can stay away from trying to write, tweak my domain, and study all at once, I think it will get done.

I feel your pain! I go around in circles trying to get started and then, bam, on a roll! I just wish I was more creative (too many people cut me off in line when God was handing that gene out. LOL!). I also have to do the rewrites and deletes and then I have to preview my posts about a million times and re-tweak it before I'm happy. I have to give you kudoos for publishing 2 pages a day! You should be really proud of yourself on that one. My goal right now is 2 a week! I have this crazy corporate American job that is much more than a 9-5 so I'm having trouble finding enough time in one day to make a post. It usually takes me 2-3 days to put one together.
Keep up the excellent work! I should make a goal to follow your goal of 2 pages a day! LOL :)

Well, I said it was a goal..don't pat my back yet! I'm not sure it's attainable this week. I have to sift through lessons and make some notes. I work from my laptop, my tablet, and my mobile and a week in I am discombobulated because I have stuff everywhere.
I quit my 9-5 and am focused on making my site my income. Sooo many ways to be profitable and this community pretty much guarantees one can be.
Here's to one day being able to walk away from the corporate life!
