Getting acclimated with digital marketing. Done with the 9 to 5 life and determined to make my online journey as successful as previous endeavors.

I am 39, live in Phoenix Arizona, from West Allis Wisconsin (no, I do not miss 40 below or shoveling snow). I owned a small delicatessen an hour or so north of Phoenix for 2 years that was extremely successful (with zero advertising cost) so have the business acumen pretty much handled. I am always interested in others' thoughts and ideas. I tried my hand in a few high tier programs, just to learn the basics and be forced to cough up sums of money I wouldn't spend. So here I am.

As said above, I am new to digital marketing other than the knowledge of HOW it works and is profitable, I do not know how *I* will make it profitable as of now. This is why I joined WA. I'm here to learn, grow, and hopefully help, and be helped by, what I hear is one of the best communities in marketing.

Updates
11/24 Final 'live' publish. Google indexed site less than 240 minutes later. Domain rank 1 keyword. Optimistic to meet a personal goal of 10 referrals on 30 days or less.

11/26 Hit a wall. Decided my theme was wrong, my approach was wrong. Wasted 2 weeks of production. Still learning and grabbing new ideas so not a total wash.

Jason, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Jason.

Thank you Kyle. My biggest obstacle right now is slimming down the 'make money' niche. And a severe case of writer's block. I want to be somewhat unique, but leverage all the great info you guys have here. WA by itself will create 'buyers', I want my articles to make people say 'hey, this guy went from knowing nothing to an encyclopedia of knowledge, I have to try this'

I think I feel rushed by putting together a site right away, and focused on that too much. Right now I'm taking notes and skimming each lesson to get a feel of what the site needs to be. I didn't think I would need to formulate 30 different topics! You pretty much lay them out in bootcamp, but I don't want to be the guy just regurgitating the same old thing.

What do you want to help people with? What questions do they have? What products/services are they looking to buy? etc

These should all give you some starting points and give you your refined approach. You might also want to check this out:

Kind of hit a wall. I have a site, I have the privacy policy and about me page, have no idea what the getting started page will contain. Im also a little confused about the 3 themes/30 topics it talks about in bootcamp. These are going to be 30 different articles about my common niche?
Reply

Yes on the topics thing, but it sounds like you're lost on the niche topic. Let me know which topics you like/hobbies so I can help you find a niche. knowing your niche well helps with the article writing.

Kind of running with the 'make money' niche, promoting WA. I have titled my site 'How to be an Internet Marketing Genious' as I believe it's broad enough to break down into plenty of sub-sections. However, I want to be somewhat unique, but this is such a widely done topic. And my writing skills aren't as up to par as I thought. I struggled for an hour on the About Me page.

As far as the 'Getting Started' section, is this an overall description of the site entirely? Or is this my bread and butter page, excuse the term, whoring out WA, what I love about it, what it's done for me, why my reader should click the link etc?

The getting started section introduces you to the WA platform and explains how you'll learn to make money here Jason.

You can market it through the make money online niche if you wish but I always recommend people go with a more personal niche choice if they have it, namely something they are passionate or experienced in.

I meant the first post on my site. I think I named it wrong. It was getting started, about me, and privacy policy, but I believe I should have stated Hello World. I did some keyword research and found some pretty decent traffic and qsr numbers, not great, but I believe it will give me a fair look at what my keywords will bring traffic wise before throwing any paid traffic at it.

I've been focusing on how to make affiliate marketing work, and am quite passionate about it, although it is such a broad niche. I believe WA almost sells itself, so anything I can learn from the first go is a benefit. I have watched the internet grow to what it has become since the BBS days (late 80s), and believe I can incorporate at least some of that into my writing.

Other than that, my passions besides football would require adult only content :) Jokes aside, I am jotting down personal subjects to work on down the road.

Your first post should be a get started post and the "hello world" one is a default post that should be erased, it's just there on your site as a sample.

You can certainly put to words the experience you've had online and what you know about it, but bootcamp will certainly take you along the way of how to properly organize and write your content so you get traffic and leads.

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)

You read my mind. I actually just started the bootcamp as I get the concept of IM, just no true sense how to apply what I've learned. I have no idea what specific niche I could write about, but I have tried other 'make money' programs, and in fact came here from one of your blogs, so as a 'starter' site I think this is my best bet, my site being a WA affiliate site I mean.

What is your opinion?

It's an option certainly Jason, my first niche was about dieting, although it was broad. I recommend one that you truly love, do you have any passions or hobbies?

I love football, the American variety. Im not sure that I am extensively knowledgeable in another specific topic. I enjoy a lot of things, cooking, fishing, camping, but I don't think I can come up with 30 different topics for each.

I have been on this IM kick for about 2 months now, soaking up everything I can, only to find out beyond the basics I could have googled, I need to pay 99.95 or 1995.00 etc and promote a non-existent product to some poor sap looking for an easy buck.

I believe I can write knowledgeable and informative articles about marketing, affiliate programs, etc with leveraging the things I learn here. Do you think this topic is too played out? Too saturated? I see the 'review' and scam articles everywhere, most linking to a WA member blog, lol, but this being the case, if everyone is doing it and still getting buyers, why can't I?

Yeah you can do this type of blog. The bootcamp is designed to show you how to go progress through this, but it takes a bit of time because the niche is competitive (not saturated).

I think your football niche may work, you can review gear people can wear for football, exercises to practice for it and even do instructional videos on how to play it, maybe a niche topic on fantasy football and how to make money of it is another choice.

In WA, you don't get those crazy upsells you talked about. The most we have besides the premium membership if the keyword tool which is cheap and optional. as a premium member, you can use the default keyword tool inside WA (A different one) and for free.

Hey Jason, I wanted to stop by and personally welcome you to WA. Rest assured everything I mentioned about them is true :)

Whether you're here to build a business, a website or just want to learn and make money online, this is the only place that will show you the best ways to do it.

Here are my 2 quick recommendations on getting started out the best possible way:

1. Please complete your account sign setup. This is just a simple 1 minute process that will better help myself and WA know more about you and your goals. I'd like to get to know you better and help you get going.

2. After you've done this, check this page out: (I think Kyle or Carson already recommended this). This is where everyone who joins WA should begin as it will explain everything.

The course is the most important part of WA. It will guide you to success!

And that's it!

Believe me when I say this stuff works. Just follow the instructions and if you have any questions Jason, feel free to leave them by just posting a reply here. I usually respond within 24 hours and will be more than happy to help you out!

One last thing I want to mention:

Currently you're a Starter member of WA. This is completely free and you can do a lot of things such as build 2 free websites, get access to training and the online chat, among other cool perks!

If you see that WA and it's training is something you'd like to continue, I would highly recommend upgrading to the Premium membership. It's usually $47 per month, but if you sign up within the first 7 days of joining WA...

1. You can get a 59% discount ($19 for the first month).

2. I'll send you my personal guide to Reaching Your Financial Independence in 2016. This guide is based on my EXACT profit generating techniques I've used with WA. If you are serious about online business, you need to have this. :)

3. You get access to my personal support, 24-7. If you need help, you can be sure that you can fire any questions my way. I have been in the Internet marketing world since 2006 and have likely seen it all! In short, if you have ANY questions, you can come to me anytime and I will help you out (if I can't, I promise to find you the answer). You can count on that.

Certainly this is up to you Jason. For now just check out the recommended things and see how it works out :)

Talk to you soon!
