I have spent the last hour going through theme demos and details..They are all almost identical, and there is no way to sort or filter for specific types.

I don't know exactly what your challenges are. It's hard to figure when you cannot see for yourself. But when you should be able to change themes in a website without affecting your existing content.

But as for the widget and menu you will have to customize them again. And the thing with theme that I found personally, is that, it's hard to find one that will totally satisfy you. I try to find the one that i like the most.

When you want to find a theme, you should be able to type it in the section "Add A Theme" and it should appear there.

I was looking from the Builder page, and unless it was under my nose, I did not see any sort of search or filter option.

I ended up going with Customizr, lets me remove both left and right sidebars, add scrolling headers, and other cool features I've yet to play with.

A ok

You should be able to find customizr by searching for it after clicking Add New in the themes area.

As Ian said, you'd need a premium theme or plugin for higher levels of customization.

Or build it yourself :) Even then, you probably won't be 100% satisfied.

You can switch themes on a live site. Just double check to see where everything is after doing so.

Good luck.

Thank you. I like what I see from the live preview of Customizr but don't want to activate it and find out I lost plugins, tags, etc.

I understand I could make a test site and transfer everything to it, but at this point my patience level with this project is at zero. Establishing my brick and mortar business was a breeze compared to this.

Everytime I think I am ready to roll, I find something else I need or want to learn. CSS being my main downfall just because there is so much to learn.

I need to hire somebody to scream 'Content doesn't write itself!' everytime I get sidetracked -_-

You shouldn't lose anything and if you don't like it, you can always switch back to the previous theme.

Don't let yourself get hung up on the minutiae.

Themes are easy to change and update whenever you want.

Every minute spent agonizing over perfect aesthetics is time not spent on more important activities. How long would you shut your B&M business down to look at paint swatches? ;)

Your tastes will probably evolve as will the WP platform.

For some reason, I've always had a mental block when it comes to CSS, lol.

Didn't lose a thing, and although it isn't exactly what I want, Customizr is darn close. I will take close over more out-of-pocket for now :)

Did I mention the ocd? Hah. My brain can't function without stressing over every detail. They weren't joking when they said there may be TOO much information.

I appreciate the help Chris, tyvm and enjoy your weekend!

You'd need a premium theme for that level of customisation. Or a plugin like Visual Composer, not free. But is very good & can do pretty much anything you can dream up as far as content and layout go.

How much will a premium theme run me? I am weary of throwing much more at this endeavor until I am certain I can create a finished product and profit from it.

Thank you for your previous reply.
