Making an online business while having a Job
Hello Great Community of Weathy Affiliate!
I just want to write a post about how to succeed in online business when you still have a job. Cause, sometimes can be difficult build a business online if you have a regular job.
This is not a joke, building a successful business online is not a 2 click process and not a become rich quick either or 5 minutes a day system as you might notice by now. It takes time and effort!
The most difficult part is:
The most difficult part of building an online business while having a job is finding the time to work on it, and the difficulty on finding the time can come from different places, either laziness, been exhausted from your job, or the time you need for your family and others things in life.
But the Key to success are:
1- Discipline:
I still have my day job (and yes, I'm planning on quitting and work solely in my business at the right time), but also have a great wife! and What does my wife have to do in this? Well a lot, let me tell you.
I'm a person that likes to do things quickly and sometimes I get desperate if I don't see result quick. So I was dedicating my family time to the online business, don't get me wrong I love my family and spend time with them, but time management is sometimes difficult for me.
My wife and I have a talk about it and with her help we made a plan of working 2 hours a day from Monday to Friday, and a longer period of time if I'm on vacation from my job, till I can make a living from this business.
This help me a lot in making progress step by step and discipline myself. I might not run as fast as others but I'm walking steady to the goal, and this bring me to the next key:
2- Keep the motivation:
Regardless of the reason you want to make a business online you have an initial motivation. For me it was some dreams I have and even though they are not about money, I needed together with freedom of time to accomplished them.
In the journey is common to lose focus and motivation, that happens to me a few times, and my wife was there to help me, and also some good post from Kyle.
When I saw myself sacrificing my family time, that I was not playing with my daughter and not having enough wife-husband talking time, I wanted to stop and just keep working in my job, but my precious wife again, told me "you are not stopping this, remember..."
Keeping the motivation requires to always remember your goals, the reason why you want to start or why you started on this world of online business. And find a person that helps you in this. If you don't have anyone in your house, then we are a community here, we help each other, you can count on me, and I know you can count on many others here!
3- Action Plan:
The last great key of succeed when building a successful online business is making a plan.
I'm working at this moment 2 hours per day, from Monday to Friday, but those hours are very productive, because I have a plan, before I sit down in my computer I already know what I'm going to do that day.
I do some things outside those hours like, answer comments when I can, otherwise I'll wait for my 2 hours time to work. Also, I have some apps in my cellphone to quickly catch an idea that comes to my mind and to write anything to add it to a post later.
Taking sometime to make an action plan, and finding good apps that will help you be more productive is not a waste of time it will pay off very good!
In conclusion
The best and fastest way to build an online business is to have enough time, and dedicate the most time possible, but not all of us can have that benefit when starting. But It is possible and you can do it.
Just have in mind this keys, don't get desperate if you don't see result right away, just make sure you are moving forward, no hurry but no pause either.

You are so right! Anything is possible if you put your time and effort into it. It's most definitely harder with a full-time job, as you may not have as much free time to dedicate to the process as someone else does. All you can do is just use the time you have available and plug along. It may take you a little longer, but you will still succeed.
Great plan and I believe this can work to give you and your family balance. Balance is extremely important in this journey to have an online business.

I can relate so well to this although I am retired from full-time work I am still working 2 days a week part time and also caring for an adult son with special needs . Time management is a real challenge However, like your self, I aim for at least 2 hours per day or more if possible. If I am honest, I have not achieved the goals I set out previously( stated in a previous post of mine.) therefore I am going to set some new ones in my next blog... Thanks for sharing....
