Amazon no longer supporting quick links

Today I logged into my Amazon Associates account and saw a new message that they are no longer or in their words retiring quick links we would normally use for any products we want to search for that we wish to promote as of the 31st Jan 2022.

Why?

They don’t say, as usual, Amazon must feel they don’t need to give their associates a reason for what they wish to change or do, just like they did a few times with lowering the commission structure.

So to my understanding, quick links will no longer be available to use on your Amazon associates account you have with them.

This is either via the Home page or the product linking page with more images further below.

So when you log into your associate account you will see that first message from there click on the here word and it will take you with more details but still, no reason why as per the next two images.

What Now?

Normally to find the product you wish to search for you would use either the home or product linking drop downs and they type in your product or item to search for

So now instead of clicking the home page or the product link to get your quick links with the side stripe you now have to go to the actual Amazon.com website instead.

So when you log into your associate account you will see a message at the top of your screen as per the above image.

Just click the here word when you log into the message and it takes you to the next part.

Once you click here as per the above image it will take you to the next two images below.

As you can see in the title how can I build a tagged affiliate link it tells you that now you need to go to the Amazon website or via the Mobile Get link app if you have that in order to generate your affiliate link.

Now this means you need to have to go to their official website to do this.

It seems that your associate's account will still be ok (at this stage) to see all your other details like earning and the link clicks etc but not to use side stripe.

If you don’t have a personal account with Amazon as a normal customer you will need to create one as the two don’t link together straight away.

That is what I found when I first became an associate with them it was the US dot com site they later created a personal subscription as part of the general public but had issues connecting the two today but I found another way which I will explain later.

Before I never had any issues before with the two accounts as I could find a product with my personal account, click the product then click the get links but now no longer there.

Apparently, you need to connect the two accounts that are your personal account along with your associate account to get the side stripe feature but it didn’t work for me.

I think it is because of the dot com and the dot au as I am in Australia.

How to connect Side Strip to the direct Amazon website as an affiliate

In the second of the two images click the here words again on how to use side stipe as shown above it will take you to the next image below

Yes, it is a nuisance to keep clicking here and there but once done you will be good to go once more just now it seems you will need to go to two different accounts once to the associate accounts to find the other details and their main website to get your side stripe links.

At first, your personal subscription with them will look like the general public as below.

As I said I had issues and no matter what I couldn’t get the two accounts connected and their support did not help as usual.

You might have better luck in your country you are in most likely the US and may be able to connect the two with no problems but for others, you may have the same issue as me.

So to overcome this in the image below

When you go to the next tab as shown above to link to the site stripe you will get this image below.

To save you hassles if you can’t connect the two accounts just click the get personalized recommendations as shown below.

This worked for me straight away and

Once you do this your personal account will look like this with the side stripe above the menu.

So there it is a pain in the butt so to speak not the way I would normally say is Aussie style but this is a blog post LOL

So go to your associate account and get yourself ready.

Bookmark and save.

Don’t forget once you have this connection done, don’t forget to bookmark and save this where you normally save all your affiliate groups.

Since this post was made there has been a delay with the quick links being taken down from the affiliate associate website.

It is now to be retired on the 22 Feb 2022 as per the below image.
