Deprecation of Amazon Quick Links Is Delayed Until Feb. 28, 2022

An Update to Andres blog sent on Wednesday regarding the deprecation of Amazon Quick Links.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/apache1/blog/amazon-no-longe... talked with Amazon on Wednesday and told them Quick Links is the only way of displaying their product banner on some mobile phones. The Native Shopping Ads (custom ads on the Site Stripe) does not display at all on some mobile phones and the Native Shopping Ads (customized) with 4 products only shows 2 of the 4 on some mobile phones.

I told them they would have a major problem with their Associates if that is not fixed by Jan 31, 2022, the deprecation date. I told them their testing also needs to include the WordPress Block editor.

Low and behold, today I noticed the Quick Links deprecation date has now been pushed back to Feb. 28, 2022.

So as Amazon Affiliates it looks like we need to keep our eyes on the Associates Home Page messages.

Hey George,

Thank you for this post.

Well, I've decided to go back and work on my dive site and I do use Amazon links... I'm sure they don't work now. It's been aa couple of years since I've written anything on the site however, recently, I received a nice commission of around $332.00 US and in Canadian $ it comes to around $420.00 from another affiliate for this site. So not bad.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I have your post bookmarked and hopefully, tomorrow I will understand all the Amazon changes.

Thanks again and I hope all is well with you.

Regards,
Monica

The prior product links you created should still work if you used the "product links" menu tab feature . In reality what Amazon did make the search button under product links available through the "site stripe" which is just fine. So check some of your links, but they should still work unless you used the old "astore". I notices Amazon also talked about widget deprecation. We never used them so are now sure what they were..

Hi George,

I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner.

Thank you for your additional information. This is helpful and I plan to check all my review posts that are using Amazon links this weekend.

I have no idea what widget deprecation is but I'll research this weekend. Good to know about it.

Thank you much. I sure appreciate your help and your posts.

Have a blessed weekend, George.

Monica

Good news indeed.

Let's hope the testing catches all the issues and they correct them..

Excellent, George! I hope they get it all fixed for everyone who is an Amazon associate!

Me too. I certainly told them what is wrong and why they need to make some changes before they do a Quick Link deprecation.

When I told them about the issues, I was told upper management had already determined the roll out date and it could not be changed. So then I had to think of another approach. "You will have many very unhappy .Associates as well as shoppers on those sites using your links that don't work on all mobile phones.."

I guess that got their attention.

I'm glad you persevered, George! That reasoning that upper manaegment had determined it and there was nothing they could do, sounded like a cop-out! They are upper management, and there is everything that they could do! Reminds me of my time in the Army!

Yep!
I figured I wouldn't get a response. So was shocked when they actually changed the date. The real challenge however will be that they fix all of the bugs.

I'm impressed, but you are right about what the real challenge is , George!
