I have cancelled my premium membership, because I don't find the time to manage it right now and I want to save my money. Will be account be deleted or just set back to free member
You guys should offer refunds to memberships in exceptional circumstances like other sign ups i have had to cancel to care for a family member. Not good customer service. i feel like if you sat on everyone's $70 or so dollars you would be a rich man now regardless??
WA does not offer refunds. That is why there is a lifelong free membership available. This gives you more than enough time to decide if the program is for you.
Actually you are paid up until April 1st so you still have a week until you would be charged the $47. If you can hold out till then you wouldn't need to cancel but this is up to you Allen.
Cheers
Scott
Hi Allen,
If you are only gonna be gone for a few weeks then your website will be fine. Once you cancel your premium account your website will remain active for 30 days.
If you plan on being gone for more than 30 days you would need to either backup your site to your computer by downloading a file to your computer with all your data. You can do this by going to tools
After you do that click on download export file. This is the option that will save you the most money. Your other option would be to find another hosting company and pick a hosting plan that will best suit your needs.
Your account will remain here at WA and you can pick up right where you left off when you cancelled your account. You won't be able to go back to the free membership as this is a 1 time only thing and it's only available to new members only.
I'm sorry to see you go Allen, but I can totally understand not having enough time to devote to this business right now. I look forward to your return and if there's anything I can do for you please let me know.

I would recommend that you download your site to your computer. Then when you come back you haven't lost it. Alternatively, if you host somewhere else, you also would not lose it. In either case you would simply upload it to bring it back.
move your website to a new host, shouldn't be that dificult and will save you $$$ for now.
If you are only going to be away for a few weeks, your premium account will be fine. If you plan to be gone for longer than 30 days, you need to find an alternate host for your website or it can be deleted.
Also, once you are a premium member, you can't go back to a free membership. You are always considered a premium member after going premium.
This kinda sucks. :(
I thought I would be handled as a free member after canceling premium. I have only one website and switching the host is a little bit annoying. And hosting my website for 47$ a month without using WA right now would be a bit expensive.
What a pity.
I'm sorry for the bad news. I just know that you are now allowed to go back to being a free member. I think you can find another host for much cheaper, and it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Best of luck to you!

You should have done some research on it before you cancel it. Since you plan to come back you can get your website deactivated until you come back. Check out the article below. QTOTD: Cancelling Your Account as a Premium Member
