Hello everybody. I checked my website and found an error that states too many redirections. I went through the article and did not find a particular link mentioned in the deadl

What affiliate links do you have in the article? Depending on the merchant, they could have a bunch of redirects, especially if it's an in-house program vs. something on an affiliate network.

Thanks for the answer. I had some links from Amazon, but I deleted them now. It is strange when I go to the source and all links to other websites (no affiliation) work, and open right away. In deadlinkchecker shows that too many redirections.

Just because it opens quickly doesn't mean there aren't redirections involved. Those can happen in microseconds completely hidden from you.

Hi Nemira
Can you please tell us more...
Where did you see the message?
What research have you done if any?
Can you post an image of the message here?
:-)
Richard

Hi, I use www.deadlinkchecker.com to find broken links. When I go to the source, I do not see any link which does not work. Besides, it does not point to a particular blog. It sounds strange, but it is in this way.
I can not post a screenshot because of the abundance of broken links:78.

OK... "but the devil's in the detail" as my science teacher used to say...
I find that most of my "broken Links" are redirects to do with Facebook (that I don't understand... yet... ) and a few are server based... so nothing to do with my site...
:-)
Richard

Yes, shit happens, as Tomas Hanks said in Forest Gump movie. Regards:)

Could be a plugin issue

You may review step two below resource

Thank you for the answer. I never thought that a plugin can mess with these things. All the best.

Sometimes they do, especially if they are not well coded.

And you're very welcome!

Hello everybody. Sorry if this question was somewhere. I wonder how I can reach the back door of WP? I want to remove broken links, and I do not find a way to do that. YouTube

Hey Nemira,

Thank YOU for posting this question, because now I too have learned something new.

This pluign: apparently works on YouTube videos too (which, until now, I was not aware of) and here's the chat to show you how: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/not-finding-broken-youtube-links/

Now I'm off to add that to my sites too. Much appreciated!

Hope you find this as helpful for you,

Thank you for the reply. I use block editor and love it. It is good for lazy people like me. I use this link checker: https://www.deadlinkchecker.com/website-dead-link-checker.asp
Have a great day:)

Okay... but I thought you wanted an easy way to find broken links for YouTube videos that you've used.

If you're using a plugin to embed your videos, check to see what the plugin offers, because sometimes there an option like this, depending on the embed YouTube videos plugin you use.

Only offering you a suggestions, not demands... promise!

Still glad you asked, because now my favourite broken link checker plugin can check for my broken YouTube videos too... and THAT makes me a "Happy Camper".

Have a great day.

I see, thanks for the heads up:) Yes, I need to remove some YouTube videos and some other dead links. I did not use any plugins. It was a simple way to insert the link in the image. I will check if after deleting an image, the YouTube video will disappear too. Regards:)

I'm curious... why would you think that deleting an image would cause your YouTube embedded video to disappear too?

In block editor, in search you may type HTML and it will show you.

I'd locate where they are, edit in html and change the links.

Thank you very much;) have a blessed day

You're very welcome!

If you do not have the classic plugin installed, the following may help you.

1) Log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to the page or post you want to modify. 2) Select the block you want to edit and a menu will appear over the block. Click on the three dots at the right-hand side. 3) Select 'Edit as HTML' and you'll be able to edit your code.

Perfect, highly appreciate your answer:)

if you have created the post in the classic editor and opened it in the block editor then it will have opened with all of your content in a classic block....
it is now very difficult to edit the html code within wordpress as the blocks don't like being messed with ...
but if you want to see the code then goto the top right and click on the three dots and you can click on code editor....
if you click convert to blocks when you open the editor then all of your content will be converted to individual blocks making it easier to edit...
each of the paragraphs are converted to paragraph blocks...
and clicking on the paragraph brings up a small menu and clicking on a link will allow you to edit it or remove it from the menu....
i hope you get it sorted
