Don't Make the Same Mistake as Me
The biggest mistake I made in 2018 was letting my blog go. For close to four months (from April to August), I did not make a single blog post. I let life get in the way. Looking back on it now, I am 'V8ing' myself on the head for doing so. What was I thinking!?! I feel so much regret for that time.
If I had stuck with my blog and posted on a regular basis, I would not have gotten any penalties from Google. Traffic might have stagnated but it would not have dropped like you see in the picture below.
The point is this. Think how much farther along you will be if you post regularly. Right now I am making, AT A MINIMUM, one post a week. Even if I made that minimum during my four month break, I would have made at least 16 posts blog posts, probably more. When you make at least one post, you do not put your blog on the back burner. It is in your mind and you are thinking about it.
You are much more likely to make more than one post a week.
I know life gets in the way. I am a student and it can be difficult when I have essays due and midterms coming up, but I do not let those challenges stop me. Sometimes I have to dial back the tempo to make time for other priorities.
More importantly for me, things are looking up. Since I have been posting about four times a week usually, Google and social media have been rewarding me. I am at almost 800 people a month now. It is excellent. The traffic curve is heading up.
Granted my search engine traffic is no where near the level I want it to be at, but I am making substantial progress.
Keep posting on a regular basis (at least once a week :)) and you will be just fine.
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you make it a great day!

No worries Pam, sometimes I feel like success is more about avoiding mistakes than making the right effort, just food for thought.
Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!
Hi, Alex, you've learned the lesson, keeping posting on a regular basis is the way to make it work taking 100% consistent action is difficult for all of us I think. But is the only way to see results. Be proud of yourself, you're smart, young and positive mind.
You'll be successful!
Jacqueline
Consistent action matters most. I will only see results that way. I am really glad I have time on my side when I make mistakes like the four month break!
Thank you so much for your positivity Jacqueline and I hope you make it a great day!
Hi Alex, all you can do from regret is learn. Other than that it is a totally negative emotion. You took a chance and now you are moving, new emotion for you.... Be Proud
Yes, it is important to learn. You are right I should be proud I have learned and I am moving forward.
Thank you so much and I hope you make it a great day!
Alex, you are doing great. You have a good point.
Yet a the same time, sometimes is necessary to walk a way for a bit. Otherwise you could get so burnt out that you never want to come back.
I am glad you came back. I predict that you will do phenomenal is you keep it up.
I appreciate it Sondra. I do agree it is important to walk back from time to time to prevent burnout, but four months is too much of a stretch.
I definitely agree with your last sentence. :)
Thank you for sharing and I hope you make it a great day!

Thanks for sharing this. I worry if I don’t post 2 x or more a week this will happen. Hang in there.

I am glad this has made you think Laura. I do not see enough 'failure' posts on WA. Users need to know more about the struggle of others to see the truth of success.
Thank you so much and I hope you make it a great day!
Alex, I had not considered this about failure posts. You are so right.
