A Million Of Mosquitos VS Me
A mosquito bite can be my worst nightmare!
If you think about living in the country in Canada, you might think about "Paradise on Earth"
Nobody talks about how many mosquitos you can find ready to see you walking out your house so they can get the greatest meal!
I have no idea about how many times a mosquito needs to eat per day!
I don't know what makes the difference of a person who never face a mosquito bite to a person who will get more than a 100 mosquitos bites per day.
Unlucky for me, I belong to the second category.
Fist day here and I got so many mosquitos bites that I had to go to the drug store to get some "after bite" cream, luckily for me this cream works perfect.
But the challenge is to find a way to be able to go outside and get no more mosquitos bites anymore.
Americans spend over $ 62 millions on insect repellent this year!
So I googled to find out the best way to be mosquito's bite free.
You can read about so many different ways to solve out this problem, some ways will work and some will not.
So far, I have the last couple of days with no more mosquitos bites any more.
I was looking for a non toxic way to keep mosquitos far from me,
Mosquitos don't like peppermint smell.
Drink peppermint tea!
If you go outside, take a peppermint leave, and rub it on your fingers and on your cloths, the strong peppermint plant smell will keep mosquitos away from you, and it is 100 % organic.
At home... keep on each room a half lemon or orange with some cloves on it, it's smell will keep mosquitos away from the room where you are.

Thankfully Alejandra I am never bothered with mosquitos. I only encounter them if I am abroad on holiday and it's not everywhere that has them. Coming from Scotland, the only pesky insects are Midge which tend to come out just as it is getting dark.
You do have to be near bushes and trees to be bothered with them though lol. xx
Thanks Alejandra. I have plenty of mint around - we have it because mice and other critters don't like it either, lol. I will try that. I have used tea tree oil with some success, also lavender. I had heard peppermint worked, just hadn't tried it. I like the smell of lavender, but it relaxes me a bit much and I don't really care for the smell of tea tree oil. This may be my answer. Thanks again.

The further north you live in Canada, the great the mosquito population.

Glad you found something that works at last. It is quite a health hazard to be bitten by mosquitos, apart from being very annoying; I am one of the lucky few who the mosquitos don't like, so I am usually OK when they are around. Everyone else gets bitten and I am wondering "what mosquitos?" My poor husband could not understand it! All the best.
