I just wanted to find out what people thought was the best path to take. Is it better to become and affiliate for WA or to create your own niche site?

Your preference but that being said a WA site is easier to formulate and should bring in monetization quicker affiliated correctly. Niche sites are for more serious passions fishing for greater reward!

Follow your passion!

In my personal opinion I would work on the niche site first as you get to learn the skills on a niche you're interested in. Then you can use the results from that as proof of WA training and that it works.

However, if your niche/interest is internet marketing/make money online etc, then it may be a good idea to work on a WA site.

I started with WA site because I couldn't think of another niche I was interested in, and I knew I was interested in Make money online stuff.

Now I have a niche site, which I've been working on, and it's getting much better conversions than my WA site. And that's probably because promoting WA is so competitive these days.

Overall, you should focus on what you're most interested in.

Hope that helps,
Steph

The commissions are much higher for WA sign ups (premium not free) but they are harder to come by I think. I only do a niche site however. From what I have seen, a few people do well with WA promotion but there is a lot of competition. I think it is good to start with a niche site first if you have a niche you are really passionate about. You can always add WA banners to your site as well as do a little promotion. When you have learned how to do a niche site and it is up and running smoothly you could add a second site to focus on WA if you want.

That is what I have seen from others so far. Some very successful people here recommend that strategy of niche site first since there may be less competition. However that depends on your specific niche! There are some that will disagree with me too. Basically, as Rika states below just make sure whichever one you chose you are passionate about it. You don't want to get bored after a few months! That is the hardest part...not quitting.

Create a website you will be passionate about. If you are really passionate about promoting WA and affiliate links go for it, but if your heart is not set on it, it will be difficult to continue for the longterm.

This is just my personal experience :)

Thanks thats really helpful

Yes, I agree completely!

Have you any previous experience in internet marketing / make money online? If so go with WA, be aware though competition is high (loads of people here have awesome sites already built here and you will compete with them)
If you are a complete newbie to this, I suggest doing the cert course and doing a niche site that interests you.

Listen to this guy, the guv'nor... He know's where its at!

I'm a Paddy (irishman)!

I started with boot camp, because I had many things to say about scam (I was a victim of it).
Then I moved on to a niche one.

So I have both.

It depends. If you have no idea for niche you can target, then maybe you could promote WA. If you do have an idea then by all means go for it.

This is totally up to you. When I first started I wasn't sure what niche I wanted to use so I did the Bootcamp first. Now I am working on my niche site and almost done with the Certification course.

I would go with a different affiliate site instead of WA..

Why is that ?

WA promotion is very competitive. Be prepared to spend a long time grinding away to hopefully hit the top.

There is easier money out there to be had.

Okay. I had a feeling that is what you meant. And you are absolutely correct.
