February 2022 Report - Third Sale, Revamped Reviews, and Fabulously Failed Flower Ad Campaign

Hello WA Friends!

After staying up until almost midnight on a school assignment (had to make a Power Point for the first time ugh!) I am in a state of perpetual tiredness today but I am about 2 weeks behind on doing my WA blog goal of every Saturday so here is a February report!

Third Sale Made!

Ok so lets start with the exciting news, I made my third sale on February 12th! Yay! I sold $172.47 worth of a gardening related product earning a 10% commission of $17.25. With 2 sales, this is becoming my best selling product. (I actually purchased this product for about $200 so my wife could do an in-depth review so I have not made my initial investment back yet, but its a start!)

Reviews Revamped

If you read my blog post regarding wanting to make my reviews look better and my follow up posts about working with tables than this is a small update. I thought I was going to have to update my entire theme but thanks to 2 Nifty plugins things are looking much better. I plan to do an entire blog post about this next saturday but heres a sneak peek.

Ad Campaighn Flop

So what to say about my failed ad campaighn? I spent $99 on FaceBook Ads and made $0. I was trying to sell Valentines day flowers. This is another section that should probably be its own blog post. One thing I will say though is that this was an affiliate on the CJ network. I have been hearing a lot of bad things about the CJ network lately such as that they steal sales and hide true commissions. More than likely the problem is on me though.

The ad showed that for my $99 I managed to send a whopping 411 link clicks which somehow becomes just 215 people viewing my website. I ran the ad for 5 days at about $20 a day which equals about $.046 "Cost Per Result". This is totally abysmal and I was very bummed out about it after creating the ad image, the ad copy, setting the targeting paramenters and funding the ad. There are so many things and screwing up just one of them can sink the whole campaighn. Here is my ad, do you like it?

Anyways if anyone here has any successful experience with social media advertising I would be extremly greatful to talk to you. I am thinking about hiring a marketing consultant or agency but they are extremely expensive so I will try to do this on my own a couple more times before giving up and outsourcing it!

February Traffic Report

Alright enough interesting stuff lets get to the boring data! If you read my blog from the end of January this will be familiar, but not nearly as long since we are doing 1 month instead of over 2 years this time!

In February we planned out the keywords ahead of time just like in January, we are continuing to meet our goal of publishing 3 articles a week, except for one week where we only published 2. (This was because I decided to crete a page with links to all our affiliate partners and make a link to it on the top navigation tab, once again I will have to give you more details in a dedicated blog post!)

Unfortunatley February looks pretty dead! Obviously I would like more traffic but it becomes a bit more understandable since it si a gardening website after all. On the bright side though the ad campighn did bring in our largest influx of users this month. There were more users than in January so at least things are going in the right direction.

Same story for page views and CJ clicks as well, slightly better than January. I have 41 posts on the website now, so close to 50!

So thats it everybody, I still have a lot of learning and growing to do but I hope this helps someone somehow. And if you are an old pro here, please feel free to give me any advice at all about ad campaighns, reviews, and anything else based on this data.
