Hello WA Friends!

This is a temporary blog post reaching out for community help before I bother support with this issue, I try not to bother them so your help is greatly appreciated!

I have been doing the classes about block editor and just completed Jay's lesson on Tables. Unfortunatley My Tables do not look like his do. Well they actually do in the editor, but then when I try to preview the post they look awful!

Here is what the table looks like in the editor:

Not bad at all! This is exactly how I want it to look and how it looks in Jay's training. Unfortunatley when I go to "Preview Post" things get a lot worse!

PROBLEM #1, the vertical border lines are missing, that is annoying but I can live with that, not a huge problem.

PROBLEM #2, my text is not centered vertically, this is a big problem!

PROBLEM #3, the biggest problem, the font in the 3rd column is completely changed! This is a font I only use for titles in my Table of contents, I dont want these to be titles or have any differerent font!

How do I fix this???

Ok thats it. Those are my huge problems right now and I appreciate any and all help please!!!

Wishing you all the best,

Jeremy

Same as in live chat, you may try Jay's live webinar

.

Hi there Abie. Thank you very much but I actually was watching that training when I noticed this problem! Jay's preview and his website looked exactly the same, but as you can see my preview and post look totally different. :(

looks like either your theme or a plugin are hijacking some of the elements...
what do your other links look like not in a table...
it maybe the lniks in the table are called the same as hte title of the tables of contents and will be styled as such....
not watched the tutorial ...which one is it

Thanks for your response! My other links that are not in the tables look normal, they just become bold and underlined.

The training I was doing when I noticed this is Jay's class called "Building Awesome Tables in the Block Editor"

just skimmed the lesson
and what i came up with is to force your text to be a certain style by going to each link..it is a pain but one of your plugins is taking over so you need to try to take back control
if you click on the three dots in the top right corner you can select the code editor
now if you edit your links to be simialr to the text below and see if that changes the font family then we can carry on to edit the others...but i am just disappearing so it will be next week now...
( there was some text here ...so i will add an image with hte code ....)
let me know what happens
phil

Thank you I was able to figure that out although it is a bit time consuming.

Any Idea on how to get the text to be centered vertically?

that would be the p style="vertical-align: middle;" tag ending with /p tag for each cell...
and if you need a bit of space between the first letter and the border then padding-left: 10px; can be added before the last "

I deleted my font plugin to try to avoid adding the code stuff....I guess there is no way to get around it!

different font plugin....

is there a font or table plugin you recommend?

i tend to use the typography under customize for most of my sites...
i don't know whether tinymce plugin will add a different table block or a table that you can add whatever you want in each cell without being linked to the other plugin...

if you use a classic block then you get to play with tinymce ( or advanced editor) and get a table in a classic block...then you can style it as you wish...
