Hello WA Friends!

I want to thank everybody who responded to my post yesterday and do a follow-up post just in case anybody runs into the same issues with Tables in the block editor. If you don't know what I am talking about here is the post;

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/actionjacks/blog/table-troub...

The first advice I received was from feigner, who nicely explained to me that a plugin or my theme was causing a problem with the tables. He even showed me some code to enter to mitigate the problem.

I know it seems lazy but I hate dealing with code! Nevertheless, I gave it a try, after adding the code in 3 separate spots in just one block I realized this was going to take a LOT of time because I wanted to use a lot of the tables for my reviews going forward! Plus it fixed the font Issues but not the vertical centering problem, or the vertical border lines!

I decided it was be best just to delete my "Google Easy Fonts" plugin so I would not have to deal with this. I had 3 custom fonts I was using so I did not really want to. It ended up being a big mistake, the hyperlink text turned white and looked even worse!

At this point I was considering changing themes which of course, I really did not want to do as I love the layout of my site. I had heard good things about GeneratePress and was really close to switching. Luckily Terry (tdbabineaux) showed up to educate me even further, letting me know that even the paid version of GeneratePress is "very non-intuitive and difficult to learn".

Plus it would still require custom CSS code to tweak the tables, that's better than HTML I guess but still not something I wanted to do! I then tried some of the "Gutenberg Block" plugins that add extra blocks. 18 extra blocks and not one of them is the table with the functionality I needed!

When I woke up I was excited to start using tables in my reviews as I had just watched the training with Jay called;

"Building Awesome Tables in the Block Editor"

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/classes/building-awesome-tables-in-the-block-editor

I had watched the training, built my first tables, and was ready to make my best review ever! 12 hours later I was still stuck trying to make my Table look like it did in the preview! Then I found the perfect plugin for this called NicheTable. Of course, I always try to avoid adding more plugins, but I don't have dozens of extra hours to learn code and add it to every line of every table. I like it so much I am going to do my first training on it soon!

It did everything I needed it too. Here is my ugly and troublesome table;

And here is the same data in a table I created with NichTable (free version)

That looks about 1000 times better to me, and no HTML or CSS code required! What do you wonderful WA people think? I would love to hear from you!

(The other good thing is I finally thought of a training I can create, I am going to make a training about how to use the NicheTable plugin)

Now that I have my table troubles conquered, I have a million reviews to write so I will see you later!

Wishing you all the best,

Jeremy
