How can I cancel my premium account and sign up for a free account ?

As Diane says and I wil lagree

Sorry to see you go Otis! If there's something you need, just let me know.

If you do need to cancel, you can go to your account settings here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile

If you decide to come back, you can just log back into your account and start the training again.

What does the Free Account offer ?

I am not gone yet.
Just not getting any traffic.
You said increase the size of my images & lengthen my content I guess that was Advice to me. Right ?

Yes, that is once piece of advice. Getting traffic is not a matter of "do this one thing", then traffic will appear. You need to continue to do keyword research, write, and grow your business.

It's impossible to say how long it will take to get traffic or make money. Everyone has a different niche, and works at a different pace. Some people absorb the knowledge faster, or have better writing skills and will see faster results, but anyone that sticks to the training will eventually see results.

"How Long Has It Taken To Earn What You Earn" "If I Work At This 8 Hours Per Day"

What does the Free Account offer ?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to revert back to the Starter membership. Your account won't be deleted, but will lose access to all parts of the community unless you re-activate premium.

It's kind of like a gym membership. They offer some free days to test it out, but you can't get multiple free days passes.

If you join back up to Wealthy Affiliate in the future, just log into your account and you will be prompted to join premium again. Everything will be as you left it, including your username, comments, questions, badges, etc.

If you have any sites hosted here, there's a 30 day grace period to move them to different hosting. After 30 days they'll go offline. Wealthy Affiliate does keep a backup for six months, so if you return within that time period, SiteSupport can restore your website for free!

Most hosts delete all your content on the day you cancel, so these grace periods are pretty much unheard of outside of Wealthy Affiliate.

Please see Kyle's comment here regarding any commissions related to promoting WA: There are also some discussions going on here: Hope that helps!

I think what I need to do is put my website “on hold” for 6 months because of some other things
“I MUST FOCUS ON” in my financial planning business at this time.
Where would you suggest I go to host my site until then ?

Because I don’t want to pay $49 month over the next 6 months if I am not actively working on my site.

There are many inexpensive hosts out there. Bluehost and Hostgator are two popular ones.

Hi - click on your profile photo then go to account settings and membership. Click cancel billing. Please note, once you have been premium you can't go back to being a free starter again and will lose all access to this platform. You have 30 days to move your website to another hosting service.

Trust us with in one day you will want the Premium

On my Front Page of my site at the bottom are WordPress Ads.
How do I Remove these ?

Then there's THAT solution. :-)
I really need to use WA's search feature more often.

And, just to be clear, there is No violation of the TOS, or any other policy, by editing someone's assumably copyrighted theme .. Right?

You can edit any theme code you want. No permission required. You just can't sell the edited copy!

Thank You M'Friend.

The easiest way to remove sub-footer text, if you know a little about HTML (which can be dangerous in inexperienced hands), is to delete it from the HTML body.

If you're not comfortable editing HTML, I don't recommend this method. There may be other ways of removing it, but I'm not aware of any.

May SEO bless us all!
Joe

Edit the Theme code.

Not really sure about the legality of doing that, tho .. If you find out, post it here, as I removed it from mine, and would be interested.

Otherwise, you'll need to Buy your Theme, rather than using a free one.

Joe

Joe,

How do I edit the Theme Code ?

Are you familiar with Writing / Editing html/PHP Code?
... (if not, you don't really want to be poking around in there, or you'll end up "Breaking" the Theme)

I am not familiar with that code.
So, back to my question.
How do i remove the WordPress Ads ?

Purchase a Paid Version of your desired Theme, and then ask them to remove it for you.

On my Blog Pages are WordPress Headers with Balloons.
How do I remove this ?

It depends on your theme. Each theme is customized differently. Most options are customized in the Appearance > Customize tab, or with Widgets/Menus.

On the Top of my Blog Page it says:
Just Another WordPress Site with a Blue Heading and a Balloon.
How do I delete this ?
Secondly,at the bottom of the page it says:

To remove "Just Another WordPress Site". Go to Settings > General
To remove "Hello World", go to Posts, then delete that post with the same title.

Hope this helps Otis!

I do not want to delete the Post.
I want to keep the Post.
I just want to delete the Heading
that says “Just Another WordPress Site”.
How do I keep the Post & Delete the Heading ?

They are separate things.

To change the heading. Please follow the instructions above.

The post "Hello World" is boilerplate content and SHOULD be deleted.

Different themes have different options. If you have a free theme then some of them let you delete the header or footer information ad others do not. Try and pick a theme that gives you the most options. Astra is a good 'all rounder' theme to use, and you can Google for the most popular themes or the fastest loading them. The good part about all of this is that you are learning as you go through this experience of theme selection and management and as you progress through it all you will realise there is a wealth of difference between the many and varied themes on offer.

I ended up buying one.

to delete "justanotherwordpress" log into your website go to appearance >site idenity. you should see " just another wordpress in the tagline. just delete it from here.

i hope im telling you right!.

You will need to go to websites>site manager>customize. In there you can edit headers and footers.

siamjerry,
i went to websites and then site manager.
Inside site manager I do not see a customize button.
What should I do?

Inside site manager you log in to your site and then will see a big blue button: customize your site.

Two Questions:
On my home page it says:
You can set this title from the Customizer
You can set this sub-title from the Customizer
Action Button 1 Action Button 2

So to access the customizer and make changes; log into your site dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Customize. You should then be able to edit the items referenced.

If clicking install isn't working, try another web browser. Maybe there's a setting or plugin that's preventing the link from working.

merlynmac,
I just wanted to say "Thank You" !
Both of your suggestions worked.
It was really appreciated.
Thank you again !

Happy to help. I'm glad you're all situated now.

Have you installed the Companion Plugin first?
Are you keeping up with the training?

How do you install the Companion Plugin ?

OK, I suspect you are getting way ahead of yourself. Do the training first, follow the instructions in order to set up your website properly. Above your profile photo is a gray box that says Need help 2277om? This is where you ask questions like... How do I install a plugin?

Be careful what plugins you install, if you don;t know what you are doing then don't play around because you can install something and it can slow down your website.

If the instructions don't say to install a plugin then don't. Listen to the advice Kyle gives you in the lessons, that is your best guide going forward.
