About JM80525

Most of my working life has been in the high-tech manufacturing industry. I've been a production operator for companies such as HP, Celestica, and Avago. I've also worked for six years as a technical help desk support agent at IBM for federal, state and local wildland firefighting agencies. And for something completely different, while in the throes of a midlife crisis, I even tried OTR truck driving. Needless to say, THAT didn't last long.

Before settling in as just another cog being ground down by the corporate machine, I knocked out 14 years in the US Army as an Artillery Support Radar Repairman. (My hearing will never be the same) :-)

I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, focusing mainly on programming. But, I learned too late and after drowning myself in student loan debt that the programming industry is extremely ageist. A guy in his 50s isn't about to get hired in most places, even if he's a programming genius.

I'm also a rabid writer. Until recently, I never considered trying to make money at it. But, as I get older, I find I'm tired of working the 9-to-5 rat race for pain in the ass bosses.

As you may have noticed, I'm a bit of a cranky, opinionated, glass-half-empty kinda fella. Life has taught me to not be a starry-eyed dreamer. It invariably leads to disappointment and exploitation.

Be that as it may, reality isn't quite as bleak as the preceding whining in the above paragraphs would suggest.

Since I DO enjoy writing, I think making money at it can become more than an idealistic dream. I'd be ecstatic if it turns out to be true for more than a few fortunate beneficiaries of circumstance. That dream eventually, and finally brought us all here. Let's see where it take us, shall we?

To Infinity And Beyond! WOO!

By the way, several people have asked about the Golden Eagle in my profile picture...

Nope, she's not a pet. I volunteer for a raptor rehabilitation program, here in Colorado, that takes in injured, poisoned and orphaned eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. We try to rehab them to get them back out to the wild for a second chance.

Most of the time we can, but we couldn't for this beauty on my arm. She got hit by a semi up in Wyoming and irreparably damaged the elbow of her right wing. (Notice the droopy wing?)

So, since she can't be released, we trained her to be an educational ambassador. I'm one of her trainer/handlers. She just stands there and looks beautiful while I talk to school kids and other groups. That's what we're doing in this picture.

It's also feeding time. (She has to be bribed to cooperate) :-) I get a kick out of the grossed-out looks on people's faces when she tears into a dead rat or a hunk of rabbit leg.

3
Time I'm willing to invest to achieve my goals

You can certainly reach these goals. Please understand that building a profitable business is a process. It's important to commit to your success, focus your energies and work consistently toward your goal. Stick with it and at some point in the training, you will realize that the earning potential is unlimited.

You have an incredible depth and breadth of experiences. Your education and experience, combined with your writing skills, give you a tremendous advantage. Many people struggle with creating content for their websites, but you are a fountain of content. Which means you can essentially create money out of thin air.

I appreciate your desire to escape the 9 to 5 grind. I've been there. You're on the right path now.

Keep your income goals and your ultimate goal of personal freedom in mind as your proceed through the training. Let this vision of your new life keep you focused and engaged. Let this vision be your guiding light.

On your journey, be a student of the internet. Commit to your success. Stay the course and you will arrive at a place where you are free to live life on your terms.

I look forward to helping you build a thriving online business that earns $50K+/yr and to the day, you can leave the 9 to 5 forever.

I'm here for you,
Gary

Thank you! Wow, you've been here for 19 months! I'm curious, (don't mean to be too forward :) ) have you started making money yet?

Yes I have...It took some time, within a couple of months it was a trickle, and that has increased to a steady if weak flow that gets stronger each passing month...

It still is not matching my other sources of income, but then, this is a journey, not a race...

This will be the year that I see the results of the work in a bigger way, because multiple online streams of income are starting to produce.

It has been a lot of work though, just like an offline business...

The good thing is that you know you are working towards a goal whatever that may be for you. Independence, more free time, the pride of owning a successful business, etc.

So my advice? Hang in there, do the time and effort, plan the time and know where you are headed so you waste less time, and keep cheking your progress and make changes needed...

Cheers!
