hi guys,
i'm just wondering why so many people don't add their websites to their WA profile. do you have yours showing on your profile page? if not, why? is there a speci
I think it is a matter of personal choice and I understand the pros and cons of each response in the discussion.
Yes there are two min reasons one is plagiarism and the second is the fact that quite a few members don't have websites
Nothing much to add to what Ian has said, these are main reasons I guess. Almost a year ago there was discussion at WA about this, and some experienced people were saying explicitly that plagiarism was the main reason they started removing sites from their profiles.
Misleading traffic is one and also if someone has, say an Amazon product niche site that is making good money, then they won't really want to advertise it to everyone. It's better to keep it private.
I've got a couple of sites listed in my profile which are pretty big ( 1,000 pages or more ) authority sites that I know no-one here is ever going to try and replicate them. But my Adsense and Amazon sites remain hidden.
If someone knows what they are doing then it's not too difficult to reverse engineer a niche site. ( As many don't require and specific subject knowledge to write about ) Look at the content, SEO, backlinks etc and identify how you can improve it and make a better version. Doing that is far easier than having an original idea and starting from scratch and offers a better chance at success.
Hey Yannick, Not Knowing is not a good excuse if you have been here for a month or more unless you are not active. Too much community help.
Some want to wait till it is ready. As previously stated, some don't want WA Trafic. I put mine up too early but have received good information from the community.
It is a matter of choice.

Thanks Marty, wasn't seeing that as an excuse, just thinking what could be the reasons. I didn't put mine at first as I was thinking they would just show automatically. When I realized there were not there, I search on the questions to find how to do it.
Cheers,
Yannick
I understand, there is a lot to catch on to at first. I cringe when I think of my websites when I first went public................leraning curve.......lol

Hi Yannick,
Check out this post, there are some additional info about why some people do no post their websites. Some people prefer organic searches as a better measure of audience reach.
Personally I do not list my websites as the WA members are not my audience. I focus on organic searches rather than direct links. Why are you hiding your websites?
thanks for the link and for explaining why you don't personnaly put your websites here. Cheers, Yannick
I see no general reason not to do so - I suspect several personal reasons include (a) not knowing how (b) not being bothered to and (c) being shy to share the site before it looks good.
If you are considering sharing yours, I say just do it.
thanks Jess, i've done it few weeks ago but just wondering after seeing so many profiles without websites, after all we're here to create traffic so if WA members are interested in my websites, better show them ;). Cheers

I never thought about plagiarism. I mean if people really want to copy a site can't they just find sites to copy by searching?
If this is really a problem, I guess I would reconsider having on my profile.
Sincerely,
Xin
