I Might Have Found Something That Makes My Articles Rank Higher In Google!
So, if you didn't already know, but I made a post here on WA about that my newer website, starts to rank higher. And I just kinda messed around and just wanted to see what works and what doesn't.
So I took a look at the article that ranked at position 13 for a keyword (which was good for this website). And I looked at some other results to see differences, and maybe spot out what could be the reason this one ranks pretty high. Let's take a look together:
As you can see, it doesn't rank super high. But you can see those up and downs, and those ups are the high rankings moments. And you can see that got a few impressions, and a few clicks as well.
Now these are some keywords that this article is ranking for. And now you can see why this article doesn't have like a position 20 on average. It ranks for keywords that doesn't really make sense. But higher on those that makes more sense.
You can see that there are 2 keywords that are ranked 13, and 15. Pretty good for this website actually. So I went to look at other articles that get's a lot of impressions, but not ranking all in all that high.
A few more impressions, but not that high rankings. So I went to both articles and looked what was the main difference that made the one related to investment rank higher, then the other one. (disclaimer, the one ranking at position 13, 15 does actually have some competition, like 150 I think for the one ranking at position 15.)
This is the post that ranks at position 13 and 15 on a few keywords. Now let's take look at the other one, not ranking that high.
Now what is the BIG difference here? I think you all know. The one that ranks at position 13 and 15 as this little box where I answer the question. And it is on the top. Plus, I notice a few improvements that can be made to the one ranking lower. (No need to tell me, I know what I need to do).
So I will try and do a little experiment here. I will edit this article (that ranks low). Add that little answer directly box. And not touch anything, and see if I will rank a bit higher with that, just as an experiment. (Can't really get worse, LOL!)
I will post about the results to WA if it did get better or not. And see if that little box, at the top, could help this article.
Stay tuned for the results (maybe a week or so).
Until then, take care!

It is certainly a solid tactic Jonathan and one I have been using for every post on my new question and answer site!
How new is your site though and how many articles have you published so far my friend?? :-)
Hey Nick!
To answer your question, I think it is around 7–8 months old. And I call it younger because I have another site that is over 1 year old. And I kinda didn't put too much effort before (in the summer) in to it. So these results are pretty good.
And I got like 60 articles on it. And by the end of the year, I should have close to 200 if I keep up this pace of 4 articles a week. :)
So I have come a long way, and a long way to go!!
7-8 months is definitely still young Jonathan!
And 4 articles a week is great going!!
I started a new site just before Christmas when the new training came out as I had a parked domain I was doing nothing with, so I thought what the hell... just do it!!
My target was to publish at least two posts a day and so far I managed to keep it up!
But... they all give the definitive answer to the query in the first paragraph with the text bolded and some colour in the background to further highlight this...
Some articles have appeared on page one of Google for a couple of days but then dissappear into oblivion afterwards!!
One that was ranked #5 the other day has dropped out of the top 200 now but has suddenly appeared as the top ranked article in Yahoo!!
It's all part and parcel of the Google dance!!
I just need to keep up the two a day minimum and we will see what happens in about six months time!
Enjoy your weekend buddy!!
Very interesting results there Nick! Would love to hear more about this progress, maybe at the end of February.
You got to tell me!!
I will buddy but... not until at least four months have passed which will be the end of April!!
Hi - Partha has been talking about this for some time now and covers it in depth in his latest post.

Partha’s true tried methods work! Period! He proved it now you proved it. I need to do the same thing. I am curious which social media plugin you are using for shares. I tried so many of them and they didn't work very well. Did you have to pay for a social media plug in? Thanks so much for sharing it’s very inspiring and that is what we should be doing. I am going to super laser focus on that method as shown in your post! Good job! 👍🏻
Me too Brenda. I tried the famous Sassy Social one but it wrecked my site speed.
Thank you, Brenda!
I use a social media plugin called Hubbub Lite, it is free, and I think it works pretty good. It keeps my website speed up (you probably know that). Just to a bit more clear, I have a screenshot of it so that you can take a look.
Try the one I shared with Brenda.
Your welcome!
Many thanks Jonathan. I'll give it a go.
Good luck
