The First Sale
I had a chance to read Kyle's blog the other day about his first sale. I had built a review site several years ago that specialized in Fly Fishing equipment reviews.
Specifically geared towards fly rods. I worked on that site for a few months and then started getting busy with web development and forgot I even had the site.
About 9 months after that, I received a check in the mail from one of affiliate sponsors.
I was stumped as to why and found out that my review site actually started making sales. Much to my surprise, it continues to trickle in sales every now and again. It does take quite a bit of work for that 1st sale, but once it happens......
Thanks for the blog Kyle, I appreciate knowing that I am not alone in working to actually hit "pay dirt".

You're right, that first sale might take a while, but then things start to snowball from there! That's a nice fish in your profile pic! :-) We live in western WA and when we moved here, the first thing my husband did is learn to fly fish. :-) He's out on the river whenever he can be!
Inspiring! This motivates me to keep moving. I'm currently writing a blog as part of the tasks in Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website Level 2. Thanks man! See ya at the top!
That's great news Charlie! Is it possible that you could leave me a link to your website? I'm really eager to have a look.
Best wishes for your future,
Tom
Hi Tom,
I actually sold the URL and a the site to a company that has made a few changes of their own. That was several years ago. But continues to pay out sales http://www.flygearreviews.com/
Thanks
Congrats on your first check Charlies, that is awesome and well deserved!
You are going to see more and more of these "trickle" sales as you continue to move forward with your business...they will start to happen in many places and it is not all that uncommon for an established affiliate to be receiving regular checks from many different affiliate programs throughout the course of a month.
