Hi there!

Welcome to my profile! I tried to write down only the ‘essential’ information, because really… I don’t think I’m interesting… then again, you’re still reading and I’m already 34 words in!

Hmm… moving on!

But first, what about we 'meet'?
My name is Tom, I’m a 23-year old from The Netherlands. I live quite close to Amsterdam, about 40 km (24 miles) away in a relatively small, quiet and therefore really peaceful town. It’s the place where I was born and perhaps, at 23 I should hit the trail…

but nah… I like having the grocery store on walking distance.

I’m really interested in film, I think we all are to some degree. What makes me ‘me’ is that I like to talk and learn about them, a lot…
I’m really interested in the technical side, especially the editing of the film itself and the composing of the soundtrack that accompanies it. In general I think film is a great medium to tell a story to someone.

Aside from film, I care a lot about my health as well. I’m not the type of person that avoids a certain type of food because it will eradicate his or her aim to ‘eat properly’. It’s just that I like to exercise, preferably at home. I do this for about half an hour a day, every day (at least that’s what I’m telling myself).

So awesome Tom, I know from experience that goals are what lead us to success. Work relentlessly in pursuit of these goals and they CAN and WILL happen.

In fact, wipe failure out of your mind right now. It simply won't happen. You have too much help, support and an entire community of help behind you to ever let that happen :)

If you need anything going forward, just let me known and I will be happy to give you a hand.

Hi Kyle,

Today and the upcoming ones I will probably won't amount to much because of Christmas.

As of now I'm completing lesson 7 of course 1 and working with Jaaxy helped me a lot already.

I do have a question about my niche. I'm considering focussing my website on one line of products by one firm in order to gain a better reputation towards both the firm and my audience. Do you think it'll affect people their trust either negatively or positively if the site is one-sided like this, in terms of the reliability of the information?

Thank you for taking the time to check upon my progress.

I would always recommend that you target a niche, not a specific product. This will give you much more credibility and more credibility to this particular merchant as well versus creating a website in advance simply targeting their product.

Hope all is going well, just wanted to check in and see how things are going? Happy New Year as well!

Hoi Tom, leuk weer een medelander hier te zien:)

Welcome! Nice to meet you, I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start I have written trainings for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post. It has been very helpful to a lot of people. You can find them on my profile on the right under trainings (click on my picture). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.

Success building your business. See you around

Hi Tom, you recommend Sony Vegas for video editing? I doubt between Sony Vegas and Magix and Adobe..
Reply
TomHalff Premium
Hi Kit, I'd say it depends on the person using it and there experience with for example other programs by Adobe. If you're familiar with the Adobe interface, i'd recommend Adobe.

In my opinion Sony Vegas is more suitable for people who are starting out. The program isn't as powerful as Adobe but doesn't really lack in functionality.

I never used Magix so I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about the program.

Consider your financial position as well.

Best wishes for your future,
Tom

Hi Carson, Thanks for your interest in my progress.

I recently used Jaaxy to help me decide what content I need to provide for my Niche. It helped me out a lot! Currently i'm thinking about the design of the website and how to best serve my audience.

Are there specific classes / training that cover that subject?

Thanks again Carson!

Best wishes for your future,
Tom
