Shocking to see on facebook
I decided to share this shocking discovery here because I do not know if it is just me or if that is what it is now. I logged into my facebook and to my greatest supprise, I saw the contacts from my phone and all the conversations I have had with each and everyone of my contacts clearly displayed on my facebook page. It was shocking and scarely. With all that is happening now with bridge of data and privacy issues, now the information we have on our phones are no longer private. They are now all over social media without consent or approval and they continue more and more to dig out to see if you have anything private left. How could this be.
As if this was not enough, I heard over the news that facebook is now into marging instagram, messenger and one other social site to its facebook.
Please tell me how safe is all these personal information that is circulating on the web and how do we protect ourselves and our loved ones from people who invade our privacy without consent and extract personal data for their use.

I wonder if this is the reason that Facebook and Instagram were taken down for a while earlier today?

I agree, and not to mention that I hate Messenger - I get spams on a daily basis, with the if you do not share messages. Unfortunately, every time I want to share something important, every person I am linked to comes up in messenger now, and it is the same with IG - it is now linked to Messenger.
Every time I search something on Facebook or click on a link, I get a call on my phone from a foreigner saying that I had joined them and want to discuss their products...it is all from Messenger I believe, because it is on our mobile phones.
I have since removed the app on my phone and stick to using it on my PC only.
That's scary. I'm not seeing that on mine.
My issue with Facebook today is that my messenger won't open.

I will say I just checked my facebook page and don't see anything like this displayed unless I am looking in the wrong place.
Only you can see your contacts and activity. No one else in your FB list can see this. The Timeline is the only part of your FB that can be seen be everyone of your FB friends list. Most likely you may have allowed a game or other app that you found on FB, to access your contact list. You can un do that in your privacy settings.

Not sure how that happened, you may be able to change your security settings. Hope you are able to work it out.
