Hi,
I know I can trust this amazing community to provide me with recommendations to help my sick website.

One thing to check give some body your link and let them see if its loading slowly for them as it could be your own internet cache that's causing the problem

Hi Barry,
Thank you for responding.
I have contacted SiteSupport. I will wait and see what they say and then go from there.
Part of the problem might be my computer or connection but I don't think it is the only problem.
I have actually ran a couple of programs on my site and they do find problems. The next challenge would be to figure out what they're trying to tell me.
Greg
That is one for the support team where your website is hosted.
Did you change anything recently?
Update WordPress?
Update a WP theme?
Update a WP plugin?
Change any CSS code?
Upload any files using FTP?
I changed my htaaccess file and my site had issues. I immediately knew why and looked at the code I changed and saw the technical issue.
Thank you for responding.
I have contacted SiteSupport. They're currently looking into it.
The truth be told, many of the questions you're asking I wouldn't have a clue. If I did make some of the changes you mentioned then I am unaware of it.
Greg
Then I would be reasonably sure that you did not make any of those changes. Anyway, WA site support will most likely sort it out for you.
I agree with Ruzel; it may be one (or more) of your plugins causing the speed issue. That's been my experience. Try disabling your plugins, and re-activating them one at a time, testing speed between each.
Do you have a lot of plugins installed? Sometimes that can slow site speed down. If it were me, I would have site support look at it to determine what the issue could be. Hope you get it resolved.
Renee
Thank you to both of you. I have thought of contacting SiteSupport and see if they're able to assist me.
I will try that route for starters.
Thank you again,
Greg

Does anyone have any suggestions?

i have just installed query monitor plugin - shed loads of information - most of it above my head but one part looks useful.
at the top you will find numbers - hovering over these you will get a drop down - go to queries
down the side at the bottom scroll down till you get to queries by component and you can then see how long it takes each component which loads up to do it.
at least you can see
i went into posts and view and it shows how long it takes for the post to load.
you can then navigate through your site looking for long loading points and hopefully fix them.
good luck
i hope support can help a bit, but no harm in looking yourself.

Another question for this wonderful community on WA.
How do you insert a youtube video on a post so the video is our 'Feature Image'?
I thought I succeeded at this
Thank you to both of you for providing some suggestions. I will now see if either of these suggestions will work for my situation.
I appreciate you both taking the time and responding to my question.
Greg
To Get the video in the featured video spot instead of a featured image you can try this recommendation by wpbeginner.com
https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-add-featured-video-thumbnails-in-wordpress/
Thank you again!
Your suggestion is very simple and it works. I am not sure it is what I expected but for now it will definitely do more than just serve the purpose.
Keep up the great work!
Greg
if you go to the video on youtube and go to the share button you will see an option called embed.
click that and then you can copy the HTML coding and insert it on your post or page.
You are also given an option to exclude youtube controls from your copy that you paste on to your post/page.

I am having an issue right now with logging into my website. I don't know if it is broswer related or what.
I click on the login button. It starts the process, the screen
Sorry about the inconveniences, GShaw! It occurs like that once in a blue moon, though I haven't experienced this again in the last 13 months after the only once it happened when I was just logging in for the first time to my WordPress back office. And once I reported this to the Site Support, it was fixed for me right away. Please, do the same now. They will surely help you get it resolved.
SiteSupport looked after my issue
Absolutely amazing how quickly they were on the issue and had it fixed. Another amazing example of the type of support we get here on WA.
I don't know many other opportunities you'd get this kind of support and so fast.
Greg
Hi Greg,
If I had that problem, and because it has something to do with your website not functioning properly. I would do what Stuart has suggested and contact Tech Support.
I hope it's nothing major and very temporary!
All the best,
Diane
Hi Diane,
Thank you for your response.
I have contacted SiteSupport.
I appreciate you both responding.
Greg
I had a similar problem and contacted support. Seems they have been having some server issues which have now been resolved.
Thank you for responding.
If I continue to have issues then I will definitely contact them.
Thank you again,
Greg
