Writer’s Block – Cures:

Writer's Block can be taken apart, understood and conquered.

HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO WRITE ABOUT? –

-Staring at a blank page or screen?

-Have no clue what to write about?

-Stopped before even getting started?

-Prime the pump with material in your “Idea Swipe File”. (more about this below)

-Find ideas that get your creative juices flowing.

-Some writers like to have an outline to deviate from as far as possible.

-Taking a detour or going off on a tangent is OK or Good.

-Avoid the Censor in your brain… your Self-Critic. Let go of that, forget about judgment.

-Good ideas do not always come when we need them. Have a Resource to refer to (your Swipe File).

-Sometimes it's easier to say where you're going after you know where you've been. Your readers won’t know you wrote the introduction last.

-We know what we know but we don't know what our readers know.

-We know what should be said but we are afraid that it won't measure up to our expectations or to our readers' expectations.

-Make a list of alternative phrases.

-Perfectionism leads to paralysis.

-Take Notes & Jot Down Ideas & Phrases as they occur to you. Get things recorded before you forget them. Put them in (your Swipe File).

-Brainstorming starts with a topic & a goal. What do “They” need/want to know? Jot down ideas without censoring any possibilities. Then later, rearrange the ideas, put thoughts into complete sentences, edit, and polish.

-Start with (WIRMI) “What I Really Mean Is” and write it the way you think it. Then refine the phrasing.

ØUse the works of others & modified with deeper thinking.

(Emails, Newsletters, Tweets, Headlines, Articles, etc.)

> Use Curated Ideas to cure ‘Writer’s Blockage’.

> Save all ideas in a ‘Swipe File’.

> ‘Swipe File’ becomes a Resource for future writings.

> Use “Skim.it” at https://skim.it to turn any text heavy web page into short easy to read summaries (called skims) to reduce your reading time.

> It is similar to the old saying: “Money can’t buy Happiness” & the reply: “Yes but Money can buy things that cause Happiness.”

People Don’t Buy “The Product Or Service”. They Buy “A Better Versions of Themselves”. Review your Products, Services & Publications to see if you are offering people a better version of themselves.
