Stunning Looking Websites vs More Plain Content Based Sites
When you're just starting out, I firmly believe you should focus on building out a more plain content based site and in many cases those convert far higher than stunning looking sites. Once you have a decent set up and traffic coming in (and sales), then you can start focusing on the look/customization of the site.
Very often I run into too many people who take too much time and energy into doing things the opposite way when nothing has yet been established (traffic, success). Plain looking websites also (in general) convert better than visually stunning ones because those (stunning looking ones) typically distract people's eyes from you content and the potential for conversions arguably drops as a result. My top performing sites/sales have been on plain looking sites. Hope this helps!

Great Video and spot on. I have been doing just that. I am concentrating on getting content out. One thing I do do is check my phone and tablet to see what my blog and posts look like afterwards, because that's what most people will be using to see my blog anyway.

This puts me at ease somewhat. I always have it in the back of my mind that hey .. my site is pretty plain. I've added a light blue theme background but nothing else has settled in aside of the core training and I'm on phase 4.
I've always wondered if I should focus on changing it before much more content or just press forward.
I appreciate the confidence your video brings.
Brian.
No problem :)
