How Many Pins a Day do You Need to Post to See Pinterest Growth?

18
57.3K followers

In my experience the answer is 3 of more which is really not that big of a deal. It takes me about 5-10 minutes personally to do this, but consistent pin posting daily can potentially lead to gradual growth in pinterest which can lead to it's own results down the line (more followers, reach, clicks to your site and traffic overall).

I personally use Canva to make most of my pins and with practice, this has become a very simple thing to do daily for me. Let me know what strategy you use!

I am down to generating only 25 pins per post and I don't think it is enough. I wanted to make more but it takes me way too long between generating or finding images, caption, titles... I don't even do keywords anymore. I am down to a about 2.5 hrs or so beginning to end for 25 pins - which is way too much time. I was hoping to dedicate a weekend a month to creating and scheduling pins for the whole month but that so far it is not happening. I also wanted a lot more pins per post - to post a minimum of 10 per day. This also implies that I will have enough content all the time to create new pins for new posts - and I am not sure this will be the case ...I post 4-5 per day. People post every 2 hours or even more often. I need millions of impressions to hope to qualify for mediavine ... if anybody has any suggestions on how to speed up the process it would be awesome....How long should I wait before I start deleting underperforming pins? Most of my topics unfortunately are seasonal...

I experimented doing 5-10 pins per day during June and July. You can see a spike in August from this activity. I ramped up to over 3k monthly views.

But, as you can see below, when I stopped I lost my growth. Unless you use a paid pin generator, it’s very hard to keep up the momentum.

Not necessarily the case. Your pin topics or niche may be in a decline due to the season. I notice this happens a lot, especially in the outdoors niche I'm in.

Maybe…..my niche on this Pinterest is weight loss. Guess I’ll do another test and see if I see the same results.

Appreciate the info here as always Vitaliy... I need to start Pinning soon!!

👍👍

Thanks again for great training.
Since Pinterest is a visual platform with lots of photos and you have a nature site with people wanting to see locations and waterfalls and what have you… what about the make money online niche, are there better platforms to post to? I want to start on YouTube but I would have a higher learning curve with videos then with posting photos. Yet what type of photos would people be looking for on Pinterest from the make money online niche?

I'm not a big fan of the mmo niche on pinterest because it's often misused and leads people to having their accounts shut down for spam. You may be able to make it work but link to a site, not a direct affiliate link all the time.

I do believe youtube is a much better option for the mmo niche.

Very helpful subject, Vitaliy, as I'm just starting out with Pinterest. I do have one question, and that is - for those 7-10 pins you create each day, do those all have the same URL? I'm assuming you are using unique/different images for each pin, but do they all go to the same blog post?

Hi Mary in many cases no. I have a lot of blog posts and it allows for more variety of pins to be made so I steer it to different posts. On very rare occasions will I ever steer it to just one.

Thank you, that clarifies things. Is it safe to pin the same URL once daily or something like that? I'm just thinking thru how to keep this all organized and not re-pin a URL too often if you've got lots of blog posts.

I don't see any problem with that so long as it's not a constant affiliate link. I often pin to the same link daily.

I generate different urls with UTM parameters. I wanted to post many pins per post - 50+ -and I was worried that they will get banned if they have the same URL. I am not posting that many but I still use the UTM urls

I had been doing similar in that I always used the real URL but tried not to link to the same post multiple pins in a row so I'd work through a series of 5-10 posts at a time to rotate.
I never had any trouble on the Pinterest end but Google totally tanked the site. Not sure if it was Pinterest related but I was gathering a consistent 20-40 impressions per day with some clicks and trending upwards, as of October 28th not a single impression on google and everything is unranked. Editing posts and resubmitting to GSB and Bing Webmaster hasn't yielded any results.
I still get a couple visits here and there that must be from pinterest and X because I'm getting absolutely no traffic anymore in the way of search engines. Seem to be stuck around 2.8-3k views/month with pinterest but at least it's not dropping either and I'm hoping for a bit of a Black Friday Surge.
Canva is great for creating and scheduling. I usually set a morning aside every couple weeks and use a variety of templates to preschedule 6 pins/day for the upcoming weeks. It's a bit tedious but really not that ban and can easily be done while something is running on tv in the background so kind of a nice mindless task after lots of editing.
