Hi there, parts of the editing section in my word press site are missing. When I'm writing I now don't have the option to change the heading type or color of the text. Any idea

This one:

yes, I have the top row but not the bottom

If you don’t see the Toogle bar Cortex mention, try this one below.

Logout and try clearing your browser history, cache etc. Log in and see if it fixes the problem.

If it’s still the same, try changing to a different browser. Usually, it works.

ahh, yes I have it in chrome, thanks !

You're welcome =)

No problem Vic :-)

Yes you need to Toogle the toolbar in the editor.. It is the icon all to the right above your text area when you edit.

Hi guys, I am just wondering if anyone can offer me any guidance. I want to sign up as an affiliate through commision junction. I am based in the uk, and to do this I have to e

Sounds like IanCampbell has given you the answer.

Hi Vic10,
I have been through this so I understand your concern. With me it was book sales and to cut a long story short, the American IRS deduct 30% from your sales of goods if sold in the US. I sell books through Amazon and therefore unless I register the correct papers with Amazon they are obliged to deduct the 30% and hand it over to the IRS. So, I decided to bite the bullet.

I was informed that you can do this procedure by telephone and I had a nightmare worrying about how much it would cost to make such a phone call from my mobile to the IRS in the States. Then I had a brainwave. Does the IRS have a Skype number? They do. So, I plucked up courage and phoned them via Skype. They have a department dedicated to handling the BEN applications. It took less than 30 minutes and the cost for the Skype call was about 35 pence from the UK.

At the end of the call I was given a number for my BEN registration and the paperwork arrived about a week later. With this in hand, I went to my Amazon Affiliate site and filled in the data from the US BEN details and within a few weeks no more Amazon deductions!

Hope that helps.

Ian Campbell

Thanks Ian. I did something similar selling ebooks on Amazon. I spoke with the IRS and they allocated me an EIN which is an Employer Identification Number.

Have you ever completed one of these W-8BEN forms?
I'm not sure about confirming that 'The income to which this form relates is (a) not effectively connected with the conduct of a trade or business in the United States' because it kind of will be surely!?! So confusing!!

Hi Vic,
The nature of the form is that it saves people who do not live in the US from paying tax on any sales that they make. Since I am a UK citizen, the UK has a reciprocal agreement with the US that as long as they register with the IRS, the tax on the sale will only be paid in their own country. It is, however, incumbent on the individual to account properly for any taxes due on any profits made to be reported through the usual tax forms in their annual declaration.

If you sell any product through a US company then there will be tax levied on that sale for which you will be responsible for its payment unless you fill in the appropriate W-8BEN for to invoke the reciprocal agreement with your own country. In effect, this was all done by phone and I received the completed forms from the IRS about a week later. It was a very efficient and painless process. I take my hat off to those guys!

looking for it so I can upload some files via filezilla, thanks :)

Check this training out too:

In SiteManager, click on the 'Details' button for your site and you'll see the FTP login details.

It gives you the FTP username and password and domain info but not the server address......

You do not need the IP addres just add %domainname.com%
I know it is unclear in FileZilla, a lot of people make the same remark...

the server address is just the domain name (i think)

yeps, that's why is easier to put the domain name...
And I also prefer domain name because at most ISP's the ping command is blocked, so you only can see the Ip that is in the cache of the DNS, but your are never sure...

In FileZilla I just put in the domain name, but if you want, you can use ftp://domainname.com

also a good possibility... but without ftp:// will also work, because after all it is an ftp client..

yes that works :)

yep it's just the domain name :)

thanks :)

Hi there I a having trouble adding screen shots to my wordpress blog. I like to add them as they help to illustrate what I am talking about, but they are always really poor qua

Like Saul I use Windows Snipping tool and also no problem. Don't try and increase the size as that can make it go blurry. If you need it to be bigger than the image is after yo snip it, maybe try and zoom your browser to a higher setting then take the shot.

I've used the snipping tool in Windows 10 with no problem.

Thanks Saul :)

When you insert them in your blog make sure they are "full size" too! Sometimes the default is "medium" which will low the quality.

aha! thanks Nathaniell, thats made a huge difference!

I like Jing for screen caps. It lets you add text and arrows to clarify what's on the screen capture.
Tom

Thanks Tom :)
