How to Give Appropriate Site Feedback
Greetings,
There are a few topics that seem to show up regularly on the platform, one of the many is how to leave appropriate Site Comments and Feedback.
It's covered in the Certification, but still, there seems to be some confusion. I came across a post in the Activity Dashboard from JHall1 that I thought was so insightful, I felt compelled to share.
There are some who like Site Comments and Feedback, others dislike it; I'm not looking to start a discussion on who is for or against; I just wanted to help with sharing this post, in the hopes that perhaps a few who may be unsure about giving feedback, perhaps can read a different perspective.
Strive to Thrive,
Veronica

Hey Veronica,
Thanks for sharing this post. Getting good and honest feedback is so important and it takes time to evaluate someone else's website. JHall1's blog checks all the important boxes. No one likes getting negative feedback but most of us have areas that need work and this is what feedback is for. It's not about bruising egos but helping someone make their site better.

You said it perfectly, Erica. I believe if it's done with pure intentions, even "firm" feedback would wary received. But it also requires a certain maturity of the one requesting feedback.
Hi Veronica. This may be a problem; but even more of a problem is that people don't understand the difference between comments and feedback. People who have asked for comments relevant to a particular post and get feedback about the whole site. There is a difference and most people need to have a few feedback/comments rejected before they realize the difference. I was going to write a training on that but I found there already were some. It's just that the new people don't find them. Here is one: A Guide on How to use the site comments platform on WA Thanks for explaining feedback. Luv ya!!

Greetings, M'lady,
I remember you writing a post or two about it as well, it seems it's an area that bares repeating. There are definitely enough posts and training on he topic, I just really liked Jenne's perspective.
That was an excellent article written by that WA member that you came across, Veronica. Indeed if followed properly according to the writer's guidelines, it would provide the site owner with tangible feedback beyond just saying,
"Wow, your site looks so nice. I love the pretty color scheme and layout".
Thanks for sharing this jewel of an article, Vernoica!

I really was blown away by Jenee's thoroughness. Very professional. If we could, I would vote that this be added to the Certification.
You're so welcome, Jeff!
Hi there today Veronica. Site feedback constructively given is what it's all about. It trumps comments and feedback that's off center!
I've been fortunate enough to have received really insight and constructive Site Feedback, but I know everyone doesn't like using it.
