My 8 Year Old`s First Site - My Indiana Jones
My 8 year old is back in school and I think we had a little bit too much fun this summer, not working as much on our website project ”My Indiana Jones Site” as we would`ve liked.

But we started it, he learned some basics and we will continue working on the site, during the dark rainy days a head of us :) yes we live in Ohio.
A few things he learned was how to buy a domain, the set up phase of Wordpress. Adding a post with videos and pictures... Some days he was more interested in watching the Indiana Jones clips than working on the site, lol.
The deal is still on, he wants a 60% cut on the money the site will bring in, he is not backing down on that one :)

That is really awesome Veronica! Talk about a little entrepreneur. By doing this for your son I think you are giving him a competitive advantage when he is ready to enter the so called "real world". Would love to hear this story roll out! :)
Thank you Kyle! I want to teach him to set goals and help him reach them, I think building a website with all small steps that goes with it is a great way to do this. I also want to let him know that working with something that you truly enjoy will bring you happiness...
And yes hopefully he has an advantage to next generations internet marketers :)

What a great idea to create it from your 8yr old sons perspective and teach him valuable business lessons while having some fun!
looks wonderful and filled with imagination... When my boys were that age, I took them every year until age 16 to disney world to see the indiana Jones live re-inactment... They loved it! It's wonderful you are teaching your son so young! Love his site :)
Thank you! Yes that is where it all started, Disney World and the Indiana Jones live show, it is awesome! I just love the way kids think, he knows exactly how he wants it, mom put this picture here, can you change the header here, can you... there are no limits to what they can do.
I still go to DW for inspiration, enjoyment, ideas and to observe marketing at its very best! From the top... to the cast members... amazing! Have never seen a grumpy employee. They dot every "i" and cross every "t". That's what I want to achieve with my
websites. Your son is on his way to doing just that... perhaps he is a future "imagineer".
DW can for sure teach you some good marketing lessons!!
Right now he is in the phase of wanting to do movies and be a scientist... might have something to do with Indiana Jones lol.
Dreams can come true... At eight years old I bought my son a camera. Since they were born they traveled with me to shoot commercials or manage large promotional events.
At 8 I got my youngest a camera... it was all he ever wanted. He is now a senior in high school... has made many films and participated in film festivals... Next year he will go to Full Sail in Winterpark, Fla. ( Don't your son see this... yet) :)

Rich you know me to well, yes working on the 50/50 split lol when we are done he is probably up to 70/30 ...

My mother is going to be putting together a dog site soon. She has never written anything in her life and I still have to tell her how to turn on her laptop. This should be interesting!

That is so cool that you are teaching him at a young age! This could workout to be an enormous advantage for him. It also gives me the extra push to get things done now! If a kid can do it so can I! Congratulations!
