Falling Down and Up

Never in my life had I fallen up before it happened yesterday while I was walking up the flight of stairs and a kind of grumbling to myself about the absence of lifts in the high-rise buildings. At some moment I found myself falling up the stairs. No shoelaces, no banana skin, no nothing. I just didn't concentrate on what I was doing. Stupid, funny as it is, it gave an idea for a post and after I talked to Rick and we recollected his fallings, we decided to write on it.

These are separate posts and I intentionally don't read Rick's post though I've seen it published not to feed on his ideas. I'll read it after I have finished mine.

So fallings - up and down. Mainly down, of course. One of the main tricks in comedy films. Banana skin, falling down, laughter. Some awkward movement, not being careful - falling down.Being reckless and stupid - falling down.Sportsmen falling down. Falling Angel. Falling snow or rain. Falling tears. Falling asleep, Falling in love.Tragic falling. Falling from a high position or rank.

Falling snowman. A bit sad...

Banana skin...

A bit of sarcasm.

Careful on stairs...(Rick, I still think of your falling. Hope you are more careful now.)

Going up the escalator going down. Anybody did this?

Rare persistence

A bit reckless

I'd say, stupid

.

Here, too...

Learning to ride a bike..

How many times do they fall during their career?

Falling in love...

Having fallen in love you don't notice falling rain...

Some are never up after such kind of falling...

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." Isaiah.14/12

This photograph made me cry.The most tragic and overwhelming of all I have seen on this event .

So many people found their death falling on that tragic day. Let this never be repeated.

Falling snow

Falling rain

Falling leaves

Falling tears

Falling asleep

And some more fallings:

We all sometimes fall into sarcasm.

And what is bad- good jobs don't fall on us.

Neither does success..

May you guys only experience pleasant fallings. Watch the falling stars and fall in love..:)

As always, interesting information. There is a song from my past: 'catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, and never let it fade away'...

We can never let our fantasies and dreams go away. It gives us our drive to pull forward.

Thank you for more cheer. I can always count on you!

Katherine

Thanks , dear!
Have always liked watching falling stars!:))

Hi Vera, a most intriguing post. Irv.

Thank you, Irv.:)

Somewhere in my dim, distant past, I collected statistics of falls between surfaces and falls on same surface. I am sure "careless" and "stupid" appeared somewhere as well. I appreciate the detail of you tome on the issue - well done, and very entertaining.
Larry

Thank you. Larry. My "statistics" has always been on my knees. Did sports, went skiing, was aso careless and stupid. It all may haunt you in some future, but it's fine. It's life..:)

Top Entertainment blog for me!
So fun! ☺☻☺☻

Thanks a lot, Nattawut.:))

Another great one, Vera. From great concepts come great Blogs! :)

Glad you liked it, Rick.:))

Vera so much of this good post has me ROFL especially the basketball shot!
Balance control is a main concern of mine. Being a fall risk is something to constantly be on guard for. I don't take an escalator. That's what elevators are for in the metro stations!

Thank you , Mike. Escalators can be dangerous, right. I read there was once a major breakage of one in a shopping centre. A woman was killed then. Terrifying...

What an amazing post Vera. Some happy falls, some sad. That's life.

I have never fallen up - well not that I can remember. However, I've had my fair share of falling down stairs, slipping and falling on pavements and crashing to the floor due to tripping over electric cords. Those were in my younger days. I'm very careful now about where I tread!

I hope Vera, that any future falls you may experience are happy falls :)

Thank you very much, Valerie.Glad you liked it.
Happy falls for you too!:)

Sometimes this is a sign from the Universe to tell you listen to me

Falling? Well, God may speak in a strange way if He needs to get across the message.:)

I would hate to admit how many times I've 'fallen up'! :)

Well ..Things happen... I have fallen down many times, especially in my teenage years playing sports and skiing...I've fallen just walking on icy roads, wet floor, tipping over things. Never dangerous, though..:)

I can trip over a pebble lol :)

Perhaps we are just accident prone Vera! lol

Can be the case...I am also "lost" prone. It's even worse than falling. I so easily lose the way...:)

Oh dear...
That's a worry lol :)

Oh no...It's both stupid and fun...I don't even try to fight it -people know about this feature of mine and some precautions are always taken...hahaha...:))

rofl :)

Exactly!:)))

LOLOL perhaps we'll bump into each other when we're both lost!

I'll point you in the general direction of Russia and 'push' and you can push me down due south somewhere! :) rofl

Hold that thought...can you see the picture?

You in a big fur coat (lost) and me in a t-shirt, short & thongs (lost) rofl

Hahaha... See the picture...Where would we meet? Mongolia? Corea?..:)

Equatorial Gambia in Africa...

You'll be able to recognize me...I hope...

Nobody else will know which way to push me! lol

Actually...I'll be dressed up looking like Doctor Livingstone...I presume! lol

Where am I?

Equatorial Gambia? Wait a minute! Where is it? I need to first find it in order to be lost there...lol..
Doctor Livingstone wore suits and ties, I presume... Won'it it be a bit hot?:))

Google it! lol

It's easy to get lost anywhere in Africa!

Didn't he wear tweed?

I'll have to find a tweed twin se with short sleeves! lol

Google in order to get lost? Who do you take me for? I can do it OK myself! lol!...:)

rofl Vera!

Yeah...tell the google gods to go take a hike...you're an expert...lol

Oh yeah... Google can break its elecronic head should it cooperate with me...:)))
